It’s mind games, City need Kane and they know they will have to pay big money to get him, Pep isn’t going to come out and say they’re happy to pay any figure is he. End of next week is probably when the real back and forth begins
RB Leipzig captain Marcel Sabitzer, 27, could be available for about £17m, with the Austria midfielder entering the final 12 months of his contract and talks over a new deal stalling.
I really don't think City do need Kane, I just don't see a good marriage from either side with this one. Both sides would be better off with a team/player that suits them,
Surely this summer is finally the end of Lamela, 8 years of him at Spurs and probably 2-3 good moments in all that time
I wouldn't be surprised if Lucas moved on too, although the only whispers so far are from the Middle East and I doubt he's willing to enter Pension Mode quite yet
Lucas' biggest problem is he's a large part of why our right flank has been the Bermuda Triangle for the last couple of seasons, as the ball goes out to him and nobody gets it back as he either dribbles down a blind alley or aims a Townsend Special towards the back row of the stands About the only times where that didn't happen was when Lo Celso was being used as an ersatz Dembele, so while some of the blame can be aimed at Sissoko/Winks for not being open for the pass further up the pitch it also has to be said that Lucas never seeming to find Kane, Son or anybody else is certainly on him
Pjanic Watch Sport (the Spanish one, not the London-bus-on-the-moon one) report that, rather than looking to sign him permanently, we're looking at a season-long loan That frees up cash to bring in Sabitzer, yeah?
I wouldn't be surprised if Bergwijn leaves if an acceptable offer comes in. There's been Ajax rumours in the past but unless Nuno gives him a crack at the beginning and he hits the ground running, it's hard to see where he fits in. He's not ousting Son at LW, he's likely behind Lucas at RW at the moment and I think at his age he'll be wanting somewhat of a guarantee of being a starter, especially having not made the final cut for the Dutch squad too which I'm sure he was disappointed to miss out on. I'd like him to stay but just wouldn't be surprised if he were to go.
Lyon's Houssem Aouar has reportedly refused to return for pre season training in order to force through a move. We're linked with him (along with the gooners). Not sure I want that attitude (if true) at the lane tbh
He actually denied those rumours mate and released a statement calling it fake news, he's also since posted on social media of him in training.
Palace have signed Michael Olise. Been linked with us in the past, wouldn't have minded him here too, probably the best talent in the Championship last season. Good signing for them, especially as the fee is rumoured to only be £8m. Him, Eze and Zaha (if he stays) should get the crowd out of their seats a fair bit.
Yeah not sure what Reading were thinking. It's as if they've been living in a hole the last few years and not seen the fees paid for the likes of Maddison, Watkins, Bellingham, Maupay etc.
