If I were to be optimistic, I'd say:

NUFC Vs Everton - Win (if we held Spurs to a draw in the way we did, we can beat Everton)
Man City vs NUFC - Lose/draw
Man Utd vs NUFC - Lose/draw - (I think we drew at Old Trafford last season didn't we? Well we can do it again with a better side)
    NUFC vs Chelsea - Draw/win

That's being entirely optimistic of course. In the absolute perfect situation which is still within the realms of possibility (but extremely unlikely), we could get 8 points.

The more realistic situation, and one I'd be delighted with, is around 4 points.

However, if we don't get the win against Everton, then an great result would be 2-3 points.

Lost 3 nil at Old Trafford opening game of the season.
    Drew 0-0 at SJP though.

2/3 points from City, Man Utd and Chelsea would be excellent. Needless to say 3 draws would be much more satisfactory than 1 win and 2 defeats.

<ok> You're right. Much better to know that you made 3 top teams drop a total of 6 points between them rather than have 1 team drop 3.

Pretty much this also... Put 4 past Villa without Aguero Dzeko Nasri Tevez or Silva? My god.

Unless they do what Chelsea did last season and have a dip in form during Novermber, what with all their 'exotic' players and all? ;)

Haha, I bloody hope so! United have slipped of late too, not been putting in as many goals. Who knows what could happen ;)

City definitely the team to be feared this season though.

Well it may not count for much in these parts but I thought you played well today. It was really good to see a team with confidence in their own style of play and each other.

Is Lawrenson on MOTD2 tonight? I can't wait to hear what he has to say now.

"Well they're a funny team, Newcastle.." (crosses legs in casually homosexual manner) "... you just sort of get the feeling that their luck will run out at Wigan."

I had a feeling that Modric, VDV, Bale, Parker and Adebayor would as well, but hey ho. I mean you just have to look at some of those names and they send the fear of ****e up you, but in reality, on the pitch, it never works out so straightforward, unless you're crap of course.

We're too good this season to fall foul of a single player who will 'rip us apart' imo. With some of the poorer teams in the league, some players (like Mata for example) are such a high level above them that they just cause hell on. The sheer quality of the 11 individual players wins the game even if they don't play very well as a team.

However, we're such a good unit now that even the best teams will have to collectively play well as a unit and work to overcome us.

I'm not saying we're going to storm anything. Hell no. I'd be chuffed to bits with 7th or 8th personally, because we won't be anywhere near the top 4. However, if we keep our foot on the gas then I don't think any team will find it easy to beat us.

Yeah, you can always compare stats from previous seasons such as:

Only Arsenal has scored as many goals as City have done 8 games into the season during the 10/11 season.

But there is something different about this City team and we all know that records are there to be broken. Here's to hoping though.

Btw, for the record, I'll be ****ing astounded if we get anything at Man City's ground. Well and truly. We'd have to play the best game we've ever played this season by far.
