    Fair enough mate, it's always difficult to tell with the Toon <ok>

    You know full well what a reputation you have for 'over-optimism', but it's good to see you being sensible. You've a decent team there, most teams won't win at SJP, and a draw for us is a good result <ok>

    Spurs will be up there. Defoe should have started today, and had he, I believe you would have won.

    And the 'over-optimism' stems from the fact that we have had so much **** with MA, something good is bound to happen at some point <laugh> He can plant all the ****ty Sports Direct signs that he can find around SJP as long as we keep getting results!

    Did spurs takentheir full 3000 allocation?

    I know they've been struggling recently due to the recession and sent back 1200 for old trafford

    A Chelsea fan, wanting to take the mick about Spurs over attendances?

    Are you sure mate? Whose Season tickets went on general sale? How are your CL attendances going - I'm afraid it's not a good point for you to raise <laugh>

    I don't think your difficulty will come in finishing 4th (I see it being between you and Liverpool) it'll be maintaining it IMO. Adebayor is a great loan singing but he'll need to be replaced if you don't move for him permanently. Defoe is no spring chicken and King can surely only have 1 more season in him (2 at a push)...

    You've got some great quality, young players, but you'll need to spend (and then expect those new players to take time to bed in).

    Fair comments JWAG, but we've always spent money, so given our healthy finances, no reason to think we won't spend again next year.

    Could you (Spurs) afford Adebayor's wages and a transfer fee? Isn't he on £175,000 per week? Very risky if you sign him with no guarantee of CL football each season.

    I actually think we have a decent side somehow this season. finish above us?? Man United, Man City, Chelsea, Liverpool, Tottenham, Arsenal after that I think it's hard to say really. 7th for us and sorry to say Liverpool for 4th.

    It's a fight between us, Stoke, Fulham and Everton (they'll both come good) for 7th.

  12. Even Adebayor must realise that he simply isn't worth any where near what City are paying him, and that he won't get any where near that when they move him on. Today, I saw, for the first time this season, signs of why Arsenal and then City were prepared to off-load him. He was lazy and ineffective in front of goal. Mind you, I won't go too hard on him this time, as I really do believe that Harry got it completely wrong to play him up front alone, especially with VDV who (apart from the penalty) was useless.

    As for the Toon, I don't begrudge their fans their joy at what they've done so far this season, given the nightmare of two seasons ago, when they must have thought the world had ended for them. Enjoy it while it lasts, lads. That's what we'd all do if it was us in 4th <ok>

  13. Perhaps. But, even after today's gutless performance, I still think we have greater strength in depth than 'Pool. Without Suarez, they are are very ordinary, whereas we are only hampered by our thread-bare defence, at the moment.

    Arsenal shouldn't trouble you this season. They are looking dreadful. They barely beat a Sunderland side at home, today, who didn't even start with a striker!

    Well said. We're just loving the feel good factor and having a team that gives it all week in week out. That's all we ask.

    Agreed, loving the commitment and spirit of the team at the moment. Great game today, would have loved collo to slot that ball at the end.

    Happy with the result and maintaining our unbeaten start to the season. Be happy with a top 10 finish, we could be as high as 5-7 if we keep our momentum. But let's take it one game at a time and see where our 'luck' takes us!:)

    Re-read what I said. I said I can't believe that some people are even making a point of saying it, because it's so incredibly obvious that Spurs will finish well above us and probably take 4th ahead of Liverpool. I'm just saying that I take it as a compliment that some people are coming out to clarify it.

    If you think 14 clubs will finish below us, that would imply that you believe we'll finish 6th? I'd be chuffed to ****ing bits with that to tell you the truth.

    Don't get any of us mags wrong. None of us genuinely believe that we're contenders for a CL spot finish and we never have. Our starting 11 are missing 3/4 better players and that's before we've even looked at the depth.

    Sorry if this has already been discussed, but what happened to Ledley he was subbed on 30 mins?

  18. I think the Toon is in far better shape than either Arsenal or 'Pool.

    'Pool fans might believe otherwise, but I don't think it has yet sunk in just how overrated their recent transfer buys have been. Apart from Suarez, I don't think 'Pool have bought a player that should frighten the Toon.

    As for Arsenal, I think your Defence should be more than enough to hold off RvP (who is their only real threat up front), and your forwards will absolutely terrorize their shambles of a defence.

    Think Genk will be a low attendance. Prior to this season we had 21 consecutive sell outs for champions league games 2007 to 2011.

    I am boycotting genk due to ticket prices.. just like spurs fans boycotted old Trafford, city of manchester and Stamford bridge away after one expensive season in champions league.

    Saw tube adverts for home games for spurs this season.. I think the bubble has burst

    Not sure if you're just saying that to wind the fans of teams up who you have more of a rivalry with, but still.

    Imo with the amount of cash Kenny has spent, he could have formed a squad which was battling with Chelsea for 3rd if he bought wisely and got value for money.

    However, he chose to buy overpriced British players, and some of them not even THAT good, so the value for money is frankly woeful.

    Cabaye = £4.5mill
    Tiote = £3.5mill

    Total = £8mill

    Carroll = £35mill
    Henderson = £15mill

    Total = £50mill

    If there's any example which highlights how important value for money is, it's that.

    Your last sentence is spot on for me though. I can't think of any particular recent signing, apart from Suarez, which would be 'one to watch' in a game, so to speak.
