Romano reiterating talks with Tomiyasu and Bologna are ongoing. Sounds like the difference in fee is small so should get sorted sooner or later. Again confirms the player wants to join us. Seems like he’ll be first through the door providing no **** ups.
Arsenal have also been linked As a result, r/soccer has become its usual self so if you want to get bladdered in less than three the usual drinking game rules apply
Roughly £3m difference in valuation and the fee is low as **** anyway, you either want him or you don't. Why **** about for peanuts if the DOF and manager want him ?
It’s probably all comparative though. Why did you lot offer £70m when Dortmund wanted £90m? It’s taken you a year to finally meet it too and yet a club with your finances could’ve easily paid the asking price the first time round. Ultimately no one wants to pay the full sum, regardless of how high or low it is. It’s then just down to whether the buyer gives in and pays the asking price or the selling club agrees to compromise, otherwise no deal. I’d like to think we’ll eventually meet the asking price or Bologna agree to a slightly lesser fee. As long as we don’t make stupid bids like we done with Grealish - which in fairness we haven’t - then I don’t mind the club trying to haggle for a deal.
I get what you are saying and agree with it to an extent. The thing that get's me is if a club really want's a player or not, £20m difference in valuation is a fair bit more than £3m and could go a long way to getting another player in addition to the one you want. Like you said, margins but we have shown we really want Sancho and have had the "bluff" called on us so stumped up. Will Levy do the same with the extra £3m for his NEW DOF and manager? Show some ambition and backing, if only in the first transfer window
I’d like to think so but then I said similar about Grealish, lol. In fairness though we haven’t made a stupid first offer for Tomiyasu that was well below the asking price like we done back then with Grealish. £3m and Onomah has basically become a meme. Opening bid of €18m plus add ons and Bologna want just over €20m plus add ons, hard to see us not matching that with the second bid. But then this is Tottenham so I won’t rule anything out these days, lol.
Kevin Bonifazi has joined Bologna apparently and he’s a centre back. Coincidence or is he the replacement for Tottenham bound Tomiyasu?
Seen a few people suggesting we should sign Umtiti, is he not just a left footed, older and more injury prone Sanchez? I think hes a bit of a liability.
He plays for Barca, which makes him the best defender we can sign because of arbitrary reasons that make no sense
Umtiti's finished. He went to the World Cup and aggravated an injury which he already had and he's never recovered.
With Denmark at Spurs Lodge to prepare for the game with England, I wonder if this is the time for Paratici and Nuno to have a little chat with Joachim Andersen?
Reports in Italy are saying we’ve already agreed personal terms with Tomiyasu, so now it’s just getting the fee agreed. Also Lazio hope we better PSG’s €20m + Sarabia bid by making a flat €30m offer for Correa. In Spain, Mendes is supposedly trying to secure a transfer for Guedes to join us from Valencia, as they apparently need funds. A report from a Sevilla based outlet is saying we’ll make a £50m bid for Kounde but will move for Skriniar if we can’t reach an agreement.
Umtiti is entering the Leandro Daimao phase of his career, where his being linked with us is more a punchline than anything else When he played against us for Lyon he looked like he could be a breakout star a year or two down the line, but when he played against us for Lyon it was the 2012-13 season, and at this point he's been going backwards for three years due to a combination of injuries and a lack of playing time when he isn't injured
Unless I’ve forgotten another, Umtiti is the owner of the best goal I’ve ever seen Spurs concede live. That half volley rocket in into the top corner was just one of the sweetest strikes imaginable.
There were some real bangers in those ties Bale's two free kicks in the first leg, the second of which was closer to the halfway line than the goal, and Dembele's thunderbastard to win the tie in the second leg
