This made be laugh! I do wonder who these people are making these predictions and what tiny threads of evidence they are basing their assessments on. Crook is one of a number of names who have appeared in here from time to time with golden nuggets of information which suggest a degree of insider knowledge. It is funny reading them but even more assuming when events come to expose the fallibility of these predictions.
But Crook isn’t just making it up. It’s fed to him by the club. This isn’t anything new. Clubs brief media on their own developments and also on other players that they are targeting. It’s very common. It doesn’t mean Crook is making stuff up, or that he made a prediction that was incorrect. He repeated what was given. I’ve said it before but they can’t win. Look at the Twitter mentions of any football reporter and it’s packed with idiots thirsty for any bullshit about their club. This is the culture we have created for ourselves. We want rumours and stories and information. It should be of no surprise to anyone when they don’t all pan out.
