    Decent result, mediocre performance.
A lot of our players were sloppy and didn't look at all sharp.
I think that injuries and internationals may account for a lot of that, but all credit to Newcastle who worked very hard all game and made it very difficult for us.

We'll need to play better than that on our travels in the future and I hope that our injury concerns will clear up a bit in the coming weeks, as we need rotation and options.
Bale, Modric, van der Vaart and Parker all played below their usual standards and Adebayor's injury seemed to restrict him.
Gutierrez caused a lot of problems going at Modric too, so that needs to be addressed.

Good luck for the rest of the season, Geordies!

  3. We were lucky to get the draw. Harry, again, got that all wrong.

At least we didn't lose, at a ground where we usually do lose; but I'm still disappointed.

We should of won and had a pen ourselves but nevermind great advert for football, Spurs thoroughly played their part too. Shola unplayable, Ben Arfa bright needs to start next game. This game was supposed to be our "test against a good team" and I think we passed it with flying colours.

Yep very good game, both sides took turns to be in charge for periods and it was heart in the mouth stuff at times too. Good luck for the season.

Fair result, far from a great game. Bitty, scrappy midfield boredom for the most part. Two good finishes though.

Second half was what I thought the first half would be

Fair result - great game in the second half

A much better result for us than Toon, keeps us in pole position for 4th place.

Very disappointed with Bale - I thought Harry called it right with JD on the bench - too risky to play Parker and Modric central with VDV and Bale as the other two of four.

So glad VDV was on the pitch to score the pen, he's the only one of our players I trust in that situation.

I can't wait to see the highlights on MOTD again later with a nice cold beer. Hopefully the Spurs midfield would of escaped out of Tiote's back pocket by that time.

Tiote did well, but I'll be enjoying Motd more than Toon suporters, because we're in a better position to finish the higher of the two clubs <ok>

I now make us favourites for fourth place.
Toon may have contained our mid, but couldn't contain our strikers, so we got the vital away point <ok>

The table doesn't suggest otherwise <whistle> - check who we've played and who you've played - The table suggests precisely we are in pole position for 4th place - though probably Pool are still favourites - we will be shorter odds than you

I don't need to say anything about deluded Geordies, as you kindly did it yourself :)

If you seriously think you can finish fourth, fair play to you <ok>

I thiink the point is better for us than you, and we wil finish above you - we'll see how it goes <ok>

No toon fans think we will finish top 4..... We would like to think top 8 is a possibility though.

You've had a few harder games and will finish above us, please realise the sarcasm in the earlier comment <ok>

I'll be happy with the top 10, but we're unbeaten after 8 games, and for people to keep on saying we haven't played anyone after 8 games, which they will do, just says how bad the premier league is, yet the same people will claim the premier league is the best in the world but ho hum, top 4, unbeaten and scoring goals, Wigan at home next, we'll probably lose.

****in' hell man are Spurs fans actually taking the Toon for Champions League calls seriously, let us enjoy our moment, of course you'll finish above us in the league, but a top 8 finish for us is more than a possibility and would be an incredible season for us, alot of great foundations to build on.

I find it hilarious that some Spurs fans are actually attempting to clarify that they will pip us to 4th this season <laugh>

I take it as a compliment personally.

Fair enough CH <ok>- but plenty of Spurs fans, including me, think we have a decent chance of 4th. I predicted 6th early season, but have been sooooo impressed by us since the window closed and we bought well.
