After a couple of seasons on loan at Celtic Elyounoussi did fairly well. Would you be against giving him another shot with us or get rid? I think there is a good player in there and would give him a go.
If a suitable offer came in I would sell him.personally, but I'm not against giving him a chance in the first team. But personally I think that he Is finished here unfortunately.
I think everyone deserves another chance, especially as some players didnt cover themselves in glory over the last season; that said, I think his future has already been decided…
I've also felt there's a decent footballer in there somewhere, think his problem is a confidence one.
I’ve never seen him do anything to suggest we should be playing him. Sell or loan again. Yes we bought VVD wanyama et al from Celtic. But that doesn’t mean a 2 year loan to Celtic will make him into a game changer for us.
He’ll have been watched. The club will know if they want him or not. I think it’s probably going to be the same “we’ll take a look in pre-season” that we got with Reed, Hoedt, Lemina and everyone in the history of ever. Being that you don’t depreciate the value of an asset by openly saying you’ve got no interest in keeping it. Even if you do want rid. I think he’s decent and given that Armstrong has become one of our most important players since arriving from Scotland, it’s daft to dismiss his achievements in the SPL. It’s 2021 folks. We live in a post-Van Dijk world. There’s always a small number of real quality players there. The way people talk about him makes me wonder what on Earth he’s done wrong. He’s been a professional as far as I can see.
There are not too many players that I've seen in a Saints shirt that barely looked like a footballer. Elyounoussi is one of them. That said he's always seemed to do well for his country and has since gone on to do decent things at Celtic so he's clearly not a terrible player. I'm not sure it'll ever work here, but I'll trust in whatever Ralph wants to do on this one. Will be surprised if he's wearing a Saints shirt come the start of the season though.
I refuse to believe that Ely can be much worse than our options on the wing, see how he does in pre season and go from there.
He may well be bobbins but I’m choosing to blame Mark Hughes for everything. Mo El had about a dozen appearances, not many starts and played under a manager who did not have a clear plan. I don’t think he’s any worse under RH. Mo seems to have been professional and taken his opportunities while playing away from the club. This is not Hoedt. I hope he gets a go but we’ll just see what they decide to do with him.
