i keep hearing this 'never have a better chance' every time we get a nice draw...the problem is, it is england and much like safc, if there is a way to mess it up we usually do. so i am hoping more for a 'this better chance will be different'
May get some grief for this but here goes. Drop Kane to the bench today. Ukraine are ranked 20 places below us in the FIFA ratings so is it not worth trying Foden, Sancho or Rashford. The logic behind that being Kane has been w*nk (goal apart) so lets look at what other options we have. Who knows we may just hit form with young uns and pace running going for goal. If it is failing GS can bring our "saviour" on with 20 mins to go.
I'd rather do the opposite, Gil . . . . play our 'saviour' from the start, then if that's failing bring on the young-uns with pace when everyone else is tired
Kane is a brilliant captain and leader, he barely had any service through the group stage. You don’t drop your captain, and you don’t drop the best number 9 on the planet, especially given that he got off the mark 8 mins of play ago.
I suppose Kane has room to improve his performance by a lot... start him, if crap, then use the shepherd's crook early in the 2nd half.
