I've been watching Peru v Paraguay. 3-3. Peru ....penalties. Crazy game! Now we are waiting for Brazil v Chile in about half an hour.
He might get a yellow for that in the Premier League Provided he stays with his current club, of course
I only saw the second half but the Italian cheating (and the keeper didn't even look like he was found let alone have his hand removed by a shotgun) was horrendous. Funny how most seem to forgive that because some of their football is so pretty. Cheats shouldn't prosper. If you want to waste time do it in a footballing way like trying to hold onto the ball while it's in play. How much time did they waste and how much was added on? Firstly there should have been far more than five minutes added on, and secondly why do refs NEVER add on enough time for time wasted in added time (if you see what I mean).
Unfortunately the dark arts are now part of the game. I am sure that the Belgians would have done much the same if they had been in the same situation, I think the ref played nearly 8 mins when 5 were originally shown so that was about right, 5 at this tournament is a lot. We are used to seeing 4s & 5s as a matter of course in the premier league, a lot of these games have seen 2s & 3s added on. Our CF is now something of an expert himself in attempting to assist his team to see out time, unfortunately our shocking defending has meant that it was frequently in vain!
I hate this ****. Someone could be genuinely hurt and they'll be ignored because of arseholes like this.
We are very lucky that only Ukraine and one of these are in our way to a final. Not to say we'll win both games, but it is not a big ask.
Didn't you know,Diego.? I live in Lexington,Kentucky. I get British,European,MSL and an occasional Mexican game here.
They spent 2 1/2 minutes faking injury, most from a collision between two Italians for which Belgium were penalized, apparently on the time honored theory that officials can't or won't add--and were, as usual, rewarded. It will keep happening until a minute of time wasting means two minutes of additional time...and/or until a numeracy test is required for officials. On the other hand, the officiating in this tournament has been much better than usual, maybe excepting Denmark Wales.
