Player Ratings and Analysis

Here are my ratings for the match

Krul - 8 - good saves and did nothing wrong
Simmo - 6 - made mistakes and should play Raylor or santon at Rb
Collo - 8 - Solid at the back and upfront
Saylor - 7 - solid as well but shouldnt have conceded a penalty
Raylor - 7 - really good match, did nothing wrong and linked up Jose style
Jonas - 8 - MOM - just a great performence, did some guti style hash ups but alround good.
Cabaye - 7 - played well but shouldnt have given the ball away for penalty
Tiote - 8 - just tiote, enough said
Obertan - 6 - didnt do too much wrong but didnt do much either
Ba - 7 - scored and played the held the ball up well
Best - 6 - didnt do enough for me, need to drop him for Benni

Shola - 8 - best sub performence from him, just everything he touched worked
Santon - 6 - didnt have time on the ball to do much
Ben Arfa - 7 - you can tell how good he is, needs to release the ball a touch eirlier

Spurs really didnt deserve to score at all, but we should have 19 points by the end of next weekend.

Thoughts?

 

obertan was a 5 for me, need to give marv a chance next time

 

i would have given him a 5 but we did get better towards the end, cant defend for **** though

I think Taylor's Bloke in the last minutes to deny Defoe a goal was great. but shouldn't of conceded that pen, Adebayor was heading away from goal.

 

Bit harsh on the full backs, I think both Simpson and Ryan Taylor played well. Bound to make some errors against Spurs but kept Modric and Bale very quiet.

 

ARFA 5, did you watch the match, he came on and controlled the game from the middle, we created 4 chances in 15m and the end

 

I was a bit dissapointed with Cabaye, to be honest.

 

Cabaye lost possession for the first goal. Best was in no way shocking, he had to work with hoofball at periods and did well. Simpson wasn't poor, he was better than he was last year against Bale, where he tore Simmo apart.

 

he didnt have alot of space in the middle, played a few cracking diaganols

 

He lost the ball numerous times and we almost conceded at the end because he gave it away on the edge of the box (before Saylor's mint block). He made some good passes, but he rarely managed to get past his man.

Tbf, he hasn't played in a year, so that's why I didn't criticise him in my ratings, I'm sure he'll be great when back to full fitness!

Also, he didn't really "run the show", Spurs just **** themselves at the end, even Obertan looked decent at the end!

 

Didn't think Jonas was that great to warrant an 8...

 

I think Spurs were targeting him as the danger man but I still thought he played well. He made some great passes especially one to Simpson but for some reason Simpson stopped running.

 

I think Cabaye had a poor game for the standards he's shown so far.. Some of you are a bit harsh on Obertan, he done fine.. Ameobi was better than Messi when he came on..

And David Ginola said we'll finish 6th..

 

I remember one ball he played in the first half out to Obertan that was excellent. I think Spurs pressured him too much and didn't give him time on the ball. I'm sure only 3 or 4 teams in the league can do that as efficiently so he should be back on form for Wigan!

 

Cabaye played quite well I think. It was a hospital pass that made him lose the ball for the first goal. I remember one beautiful chipped pass with back spin that Simpson didn't read and gave up on!

 

Krul's kicking was off at times - worst game in that aspect this season - 6
Simmo - 6 - frustrating - hope pards starts Santon
Collo - 9 - ****ing amazing man
Saylor - 8 - one mistake, but solid all game after that
Raylor - 8 definately better than Simmo ATM, I loved his desire after heading the ball to himself, then winning it back and running with it. Nearly another RTOTW moment
Cabaye - 8 passing was a delight at times
Tiote - 9 MotM for me easily.
Obertan - 5 even more frustrating than simmo
Jonas - 8 great play for the Ba goal.
Ba - 8 impressive - great desire
Best - 7 bit annoying but actually played well
Ben Arfa - 7 looked promising, but he needs to bulk up
Ameobi - 8 played well and 'that' goal.
santon - 7

 

Krul - 7 Didn't have much to do all game except pick the ball out of the net twice but made a crucial save against Defoe did do anything wrong

Simmo - 6/7 Did make mistakes but kept Bale quiet all game

Colo - 8 Didn't put a foot wrong all game and could have scored the winner at the end! :O

Saylor - 7 Solid as but karma got him back for last week

Raylor - 6/7 A goodish match, some good set pieces but should have done better than to let Defoe turn to easily for their second goal

Jonas - 8 A great performance by him and last weeks goal seemed to have boosted his confidence.

Cabaye - 7 Did nothing special, picked out players with some fine passes but shouldn't have given the ball away for penalty

Tiote - 8 His usual self, although he did give the ball away in a couple of dangerous areas

Obertan - 5/6 He has a the pace and the skill, yet he doesn't seem to want to use it, still seems low on confidence

Ba - 7/8 Worked his socks off and deserved his goal

Best - 6/7 At times he was anonymous but he still tried

Shola - 8 Our best sub today everything he did was positive!

Santon - 6 Didn't have much on an impact but looks comfortable on the ball and isn't afraid to go at defenders

Ben Arfa - 7 You can tell how good he is, still rusty and made a few errors but he'll just get better with more game time

Simmo - 6 - Not great, but did nothing terrible.
Collo - 8 - Quality
Saylor - 7 - Great, just a shame about the pen he give away!
Raylor - 5 - At fault for 2nd goal, not good. Santon in his place please!
Jonas - 8 - - Fantastic performance, hope this is the start of him being more consistent !
Cabaye - 7 - Not his best game, but some great tackles/blocks and some very good passes!
Tiote - 9 - A brick wall, was amazing. Anyone see the shoulder barge with the Spurs player?
Obertan - 5 - Poor, replace with Marv!
Ba - 7 - Did very well, great link up play and yet another goal
Best - 5 - Lazy, stayed in offside positions far too much. Non-existent in 2nd half, good sub by Pards.
Shola - 8 - good sub performence from him, Shola Super Sub!
Santon - 6 - Not too much time, but I like what I see.
Ben Arfa - 7 - Looked quick and bright, hopefully get more used to matches soon, maybe have him in place of Best for Wigan.
