We've got to play better than this in the second half...

Discussion in 'Tottenham Hotspur' started by Hoddle is a god, Oct 16, 2011.

  1. ...despite the well-taken penalty by VDV.

We have looked very pedestrian, and have done absolutely nothing with our one-man advantage in midfield. I hope Harry reverts to 4-4-2 in the second half, since we are doing nothing to stop Newcastle with 4-5-1.

He made the most of it, but Taylor did touch Ade, not the ball.

No. Blatant penalty, for me. However, HIAG is right, we've got to do better in the second half or our lead won't last long.

    No.
He overdid the fall, but Taylor didn't get the ball and got quite a bit of Adebayor.
Newcastle have been the better team, though.
    The OP's right.

Livermore and Parker have been OK. Bale doesn't look like he wants to be on the pitch. Modric looks lost.

I thought we were playing 4-4-2. If it's supposed to be 4-5-1, Harry needs to tell VDV.

I think Taylor's reaction said it all.
You could see that he knew he'd made a **** up.

He didn't even try to clutch his chest and go down!

  9. It was a stone-wall penalty.

I just hope that we don't try to park the bus in the second half, otherwise we will lose this match.

    Very mediocre.
Bale was very, very poor all game and I think our whole midfield struggled with an international hangover.

With King going off injured, we need Gallas back as soon as possible.

  11. Harry's Wimbledon-style long-ball game to Adebayor is a very worrying development. It will give teams like the Toon far too much possession and we will get punished, because Adebayor is already beginning to look like he's had enough.

Yeah. Our defence is not good without either King or Gallas to steady the ship - though Kaboul had a good game.
What worries me, is the way we invite pressure on ourselves. Our ball retention is very poor at times. I wish I had a quid for every time we won the ball, only to give it straight back to them with the first, or second pass.

I hope King is fine, he'd of been a set in stone England defender had it been for his misfortune.

Poor game today, was Bale on the pitch?Happy with a draw, team looked tired from the Int games.Don't know where we are going to get a fit CB from,we only have Kaboul and Bassong left.Looked so much better up front with Defoe on.All in all we must be happy with a point(but ofcourse we're not).

You were at home and playing for a draw fella. If that's what makes you happy then that's fine....I guess.

Why a bell end mate? All week you were all giving it bertie big bollocks, we don't don't fear any of your players, Tiote a thug etc etc you underestimated us & were lucky to get away with a draw as Colo missed a sitter. I think your attitude is quite offensive especially for a mod.
