How dare they keep going and trying for a winner against a clearly superior Spurs? Don't they know they are supposed to sit back once they have got the score equal and try and just hold on? Just goes to show their manager doesn't know what he is doing. They need a good manager like ours who would have taken their best players off and sat back for the draw. Then they could be with us, just out of the bottom 3 on goal difference.
correct you see our manager says we have won nowt for 50 years what do we expect WELL I EXPECT WITH THE JOS HE HAS TOOK ON to get us some decent results
Lol Lets face it... bruce has a defeatest mentality and that is one of the main reasons why we have 6 points from 8 games with 1 win this season. 16 points from the last 22 league games. Can anybody even see bruce achieving a point per game played? Even that would only give us 38 points at the end of the season. The day this idiot leaves our club will be a day Im a happy SAFC fan.
yeah its tough, best defence in the Premiership, unbeaten and that geezer Ba injury prone , life can be hard when the manager and players dont like to lose, Top4 is a bitch guess we just have to put up with it.
Bruce cannot understand why he is under pressure/not liked etc in the sunday sun, that makes me sick as we have won 1 game this season and he goes on about we finished above the mags the last 3 seasons, but this is the season that counts and not replacing Jones and Bent is the reason and will continue to be the reason why we will struggle. He wants to bring only 'world class' players here in Jan, well we wil need them by then.
Why the hell does someone not tell Bruce that you don't have to change your team every transfer-window!!If he wants to have eleven new players, why doesn't he resign and go to another club...then he'd have another squad to tinker with!!
I remember when i read SAFC were appointing Bruce thinking that hmm, this is an odd one. We discussed it widly on 606. I looked at your team then, and Wigan's team, and now it seems pretty obvious this was never going to work. When Bruce arrived your weakness was your defence. You had poor centrebacks (Nosworthy?!) and just a couple of fullback, none of which were fit, the most reliable Collins, you let go. Did Bruce also let Whitehead go, to replace with Cattermole. It's like for like, only that Whitehead does his job without getting sent off. In any case, Wigan used to play with 6 large bulky defenders, and one striker, and Palacios as well. Bruce is such a defender in mentality, and he always seems to think a draw is a good result. Well, SAFC defence is poor. Onuoha kept it together a bit, when Bramble was playing the best football of his career as well. But they're both gone, and it's shambles now. I dont think Bruce is a bad guy or a bad manager, but hes was the wrong manager for this team, with these players from the start. He's bought 10 defenders and youre still at six' and sevens at the back. You used to score goals with the likes of Jones/Bent leading the line, now you look at the line up, the squad and ask where are the goals? I'm worried for Sunderland at the moment. Some other teams have had rotten runs, like Bolton or Fulham, but you look at their squad and there are goals in there. Even West Brom have Odemwingie, Cox, Brunt, Long, Olson all of them pitch in. They've not been playing well, but there's goals in the side. Bendtner might score 10 and Richardson 5, but is that enough to keep you afloat? I don't know. I used to think Roy Keanes tactics and line ups were abysmal. But you had some good performances and results under him, with arguably far less quality in the squad. I just don't see how your board still has confidence in this manager. He doesn't seem up to it. Him and Kean at Blackburn they're just kicking water right now. And it's not so much down to Bruce's ability to manage to so much but because of how the team was when he inherited it. You're going to have to start winning games against the lower half teams, and soon. The mindset has to change next game. But I don't see it coming. I'm really just waiting for the breaknews bar to come up that Steve Bruce has been terminated. As for ourselves..to end on a positive note. Pardew's sorted us out quite a bit over the summer. We're playing calm, controlled, with our heads up, not hoofing the ball up to Carroll and Shola all the time, and instead trying to play football and outsmart the other team. I'm also very impressed with the spirit our players have shown, just shows how far a good run can take you in terms of belief and confidence.
