Rafa taking another job in the same month the takeover is supposed to be resolved (according to the optimists/Mike Ashley as per his Sun piece) just doesn't do much for confidence in it going through. Of course we don't know for sure what the consortium are thinking in terms of management structure, but a Rafa return would have seemed absolutely ideal for all parties - we know Staveley liked him, we know he stated publicly he'd return if ownership changed, his early departure in China meant he was instantly available and keen to work. So like I said, it just doesn't bode well on a confidence basis.
I'm not overly concerned as I believe we need willock and we'll be fine next season.. We've spent quite a bit the last two years, so I think we might get one or two regardless of the takeover. I don't want to drag up old arguments but I think if we have to put up with Bruce and Jones rather than just Bruce it'll be ok.. We've got some good players and we've got some solid ones too.
I've given everything a good think through today and I've concluded that I'm still 100% sure it's going through anytime now
Will be Jones has definitely changed someone sack Bruce keep him till summer get Belgium manager get Jones as assistant I think that’s an idea
I have no issues at all with Bruce and Jones taking us into next season. But that’s under a no takeover world. If it’s a takeover world I don’t know where Bruce fits. And it’s getting less and less likely for things to be positive atm. I actually feel sorry for Bruce. He can’t really plan for anything in either circumstance. He may have even accepted that he’s in his final year and that he accepts that he’s on a no win basis.
Martinez could be the guy they have lined up that's a good shout.. Who knows because I was convinced rafa was going to the guy, so perhaps I'm just performing mental gymnastics now.
