Sounds like something a snowflake demanding a safe space would say. I don't watch England games to be subjected to the national anthem, which represents things I strongly oppose, but I ignore it for the minute or so it's on because the football is what I'm there to see. The taking of the knee is like 2-3 seconds before kick-off, far shorter than the national anthem. If those 2-3 seconds are that agonising for you, don't ****ing watch it, you fanny.
Lots of teams haven't taken the knee during the Euros, only us and who we are playing, do Ukraine do it, if not are they now under pressure to conform?
They stood in other games as a gesture, and much like when Millwall did the same, got applauded for it. Ironic they were forced to change their choice and kneel when they played England. It doesn't get as much press, as it doesn't fit the narratives that people are inventing.
I'm surprised so many of the current squad, manager and FA were prepared to forsake their high-minded principles to go an play in the 2018 WC in Russia, that bastion of democracy, LGTBQ rights and respected global upholder of international law and order. I take it none of them have relatives in Salisbury?
Rest of the world, including us made their point in russia. When did rusdia go out? No one cares or remembers.
Old hippy me had a vood few beers with some very happy skins on tuesday, so yeah, i guess we are to a point.
You'll forgive me if I am unwilling to be lectured by callow youths who have only just started shaving and who routinely cheat, then trot out inane cliches after the game. You may hang on their barely comprehensible thoughts and words, but many don't The idea that any sensible person needs to listen to their needy pseudo concerns is laughable. They have been indulged with this showy kneeling 'me too' crap for long enough now.
