Once we gave him "total control" he was collecting 10/12 players a summer for academy etc. In fairness we flipped a few but he really wanted finnan gone but bought absolute tosh.
As the lads said he knew his Spanish players back then and plucked garcia and alonso (and morientes) before mascherano and torres.
Who knows what contacts he still has so it's more about the clubs structures and the team he has around him to coach improving players and honestly anchelotti did that with calvert Lewis imo.
I reckon with a crowd back in Everton would be much better next season under anchelotti anyway so it's all about whether the team gets any backing.

It's funny isn't it how some new signings feel the need to say they have supported or followed their new team for x amount of time. Daka gave an interview to LFCTV, at the time we played Leipzig, saying that as a child he chose to support Liverpool.

Gerrard was quite mixed about rafa at times. Sometimes they said houllier did this or that and was defensive but he also gave the debut. It was a tactical straight jacket, it'll be interesting to see what he tries to do with everton that anchelotti didnt.
Such a bad move for him imo. There'll always be a large contingent of fans who want nothing to do with him and I don't see how a club can function effectively under those circumstances.
He'll have to make a big positive impression almost immediately or it'll just be like Roy with us.
