I agree with you, in my opinion Foyth is a better option than Dier. Would probably need a bit of time to develop into CB but more than adequate cover at RB. Would have him starting over Doherty and Aurier
I just want Paratici to be ruthless with the deadwood and get rid of the dross that have been hanging around for far too long
Think most are in the same boat with that view. I’ll be borderline celebrating when a certain few get binned.
Borderline!!! DHs Winks has left party will be the must have invite of the summer, I hope we are all invited
Juve fans said that's his main weakness, partly because for most of his time at Juve it was Giuseppe Marotta's job to shift out players while Paratici looked for their replacements, but when he had the main job it's not like they added more deadwood than moved out (i.e. Ramsey and Rabiot)
Sky in Italy are saying we’ve made a bid of €15m plus €3m in add ons for Tomiyasu and hope to close his signing in the next few days.
Can't understand how a player would sign without meeting the manager? Surely you'd want some reassurance that you are in his plans?
Looks like Nuno is set to be appointed so I imagine he and Paratici have already held talks over the player.
Is he though? It seems only 5 minutes ago that he was either rejected as a candidate or had told us to do one depending on your sources.
Pretty much every journalist is claiming it now. We’ve obviously been this close with the Fonseca stuff so it could go all Spursy and collapse for one reason or another but I’d say it’s highly likely Nuno will be the next manager.
He is far from the dream appointment, but I will be relieved it is someone who is a competent manager. The memes of Matt Hancock or some random guy off the street taking over have been fuelling nightmares.
It happens all the time We signed Robbo a month before Santini was brought in and Sandro was signed entirely on scouting reports without Redknapp ever meeting or even watching him, Chelsea have signed a few players when they had their various caretakers carrying the can, and Man Utd have signed a bunch of players under the caretaker they've had in place for the last couple of years and hoped nobody noticed
This should be the strength of the DoF system, as any manager hired under it should suit the available squad. Will that be the case? Probably not, knowing us.
*later reports emerge clarifying that the bid was actually £3m + 15m of wrapping paper from the club shop.
You can do a lot of things with £15m of wrapping paper For one thing, 80% of Bologna's stadium doesn't have a roof
Valencia-based Journo, Domingo Ortiz, is saying we’re potentially interested in Goncalo Guedes, Portuguese winger for Valencia. Was once labelled as a wonderkid but hasn’t quite hit the heights expected, still only 24 though. Got 5 goals and 6 assists in the league last season, has 24 goals and 26 assists in 134 games in total for them. Once on the books of Benfica and briefly PSG too. The beginning of Tottenham Hotsportugal, lol.
One of his clients also apparently may want out at Juve… Paratici knows the guy quite well too. Sure we could find space for him at Spurs
