I’m not calling for him to be manager, just saying his pedigree and experience is better than a lot of the others I’ve seen linked
It really isn't, though Give me a manager who understands these things called "tactics" over somebody who hands iPods to the entire squad and tells them to listen to Eminem And that's not a joke, one of his early meetings with the German had him hand the players iPods and told them to listen to Lose Yourself on repeat
Everyone’s jumping on the Nuno story now, highly likely it’ll be him. After over a two month wait we’re essentially hiring Jose-lite. Extremely underwhelming and completely against the whole “DNA” bollocks Levy said at the end of last season. The guy better be backed though, if we head into next season with few changes I’ll be changing my stance on giving Levy the benefit of the doubt that I mentioned just yesterday.
I’m not overly pleased about it if it’s him as don’t think he’s the man Spurs need. Also he’s been available for ages and the club have needed a manager for ages so why the delay if he was the guy they wanted. He doesn’t fit the criteria or ‘Spurs dna’ that Levy was talking about either. Really bizarre appointment tbh.
Bringing in a DoF slowed the process down, because once that structure was put in place we needed first the DoF to pick the guy and then Levy has to approach him, whereas before all it needed was Levy to make an approach Also, on a side note, I notice Murdoch's hate Comic has changed their tune on Potter, saying that he would reject us as he wants the Sheikh Mansour job as opposed to their assertion at the weekend that he had rejected us That's a lot of legwork in those weasel words...
This. It simply comes down to the fact that we we’re running out of options. I expect there’s many a box his appointment ticks with Levy from a financial point of view, but less so when it comes to football. An interesting transfer window and start to the season coming up, good or bad.
So we are allegedly faced with a : 1. manager who only knows the Portugal market (and Mendes represented in the main at that) 2. DoF who knows only the Italy marker It seems that Levy bet all in on the special one, and now fate is calling his hand ...
It sounds like Levy didnt rate him but has been persuaded by the Paratici that he is the right guy. Given the usual criticisms of Levy, the fact that he is listening to his new DoF ought to be a positive.
But can it be said that Paratici truly sees him as the right guy when he is at least 3rd on his shortlist, after Gattuso and Fonseca? I wouldn't underestimate the role of Jorge Mendes in all this. Wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if he's been whispering promises of untold transfer bargains into Levy's ear, if only 'his guy' lands a mega dugout as his next job.
I think Nintendo Entertainment System is a good manager, but I don't think he's a Spurs manager. I'll be happy for him to prove me wrong though and I'll give him a chance to do so, if he's appointed. Thought Wolves should've given him more time, given the lack of strikers he had last season.
so we’ve got a NES when what we really we needed/wanted was a SNES? ****ing typical Tottenham. I can already see the next generation of meme’s heading our way.
So di Marzio, Romano, McGrath, Gold and Kilpatrick all say Nuno is set to be appointed, hard to see this one breaking down now.
Could be worse, we could've wound up with a Virtual Boy What about Hurst? Oh, right, he's suspended from Twitter again...
