I blame Brexit. It has turned half the country into nasty little racist's.

It's been going on a lot longer than that.

The British Embassy in Rome will be distributing England’s allocation. They did the same for the Italy v Wales game, so they have experience.

Apparently 30,000 Brits live in Italy.

All the time I was watching the game, I kept thinking that England were so pedestrian and robotic. Then I realised that this is the way Germany usually play. England are the new Germany, don’t entertain, just win. We outGermaned the Germans. That’ll do!

Nah, she's a good egg. She's not into football, but wants to watch the final!

    Exactly this.

Will be interesting to see how GS changes approach against the Ukrainians (as I suspect he will. I think we'll go at them, as we should).

Champagne breakfast smoked salmon and scrambled egg a favourite of ours, add chocolates and roses for more points. Fortunately Mrs Jab's a keen footy fan, some of her language during matches a little less than ladylike.

Yeah we've got to. Grealish in for Saka. I'd keep the same formation - having wing backs really suits England. When do the yellow cards get reset? My feeling is after the quarter finals but not 100% sure on that. This is where JWP would have come in handy he could have come in for one of Rice or Phillips to protect them - as it is we've got Henderson who surely can't manage 90 minutes.

Yes, yellows reset after the quarters, so I assume that means any player picking up a second tournament yellow in the quarters will be back to zero for the semifinal. So as long as Rice and Phillips don’t go too crazy they’ll be fine. They will both have learned an awful lot about international football from yesterday’s game.

I think this is a big part of the potential that can come from 2018 and this tournament.

A large amount of our squad are still young, yet have picked up invaluable experience of how to win international knockout games, this could set us up well for the future beyond just this tournament.

The thing that stood out was how calm and controlled most of them looked, Mullers chance aside.

Yes indeed, but let's not call them the next 'golden generation. The great English public is well known for its build you up to knock you down ability.

Indeed it has but least they have stopped the moronic WWII songs and impressions of bombers or at least I never noticed any.

Denmark are my second team in this and I would love them to win it if England can't for Eriksen and big Jannik.

I live with a French woman, who hates football. She doesn’t just dislike it, she hates it. Which at least meant she only shrugged indifferently when France went out.

She was genuinely pleased for me last night though. I was rather touched by that.

When I tried to explain to her the true meaning of “thirty (55) years of hurt”, and how endemic heartache, and loss, and forlorn hope are to the English psyche, she said, “Maybe that’s why I chose to live in this country”. And I thought it was because she liked Monty Python.

TBF anyone who gets to the quarters has to be treated that way.

I travelled down to the WC 2006 on the ICE trains what parties they were! The train had to stop and pick up more booze after we drank the bar dry. The English contingent was reluctant to sing bombers and surprised to have the request from the German fans who joined in lustily.
