Genuine question: If a team's squad becomes so depleted that they do not have eleven fit players for further matches, can they draft in further players from their home country?
I’ll revise that ….. “EXTREMELY easy win for England on Saturday” Against an exhausted team, who were 3rd in their group, could only win versus 10 men, fall over and scream a lot …… I think it’ll be 4-0 at least …..
I don’t think they can, no. There might be special rules for Covid-positive players but I don’t think injuries can be a reason. Mind you, I’d be worried if Andriy Shevchenko turned out himself, he’s probably fitter than any of his squad, and a better player too!
Commentary moment of the tournament so far for me, was Keown and Pearce falling out during the local swimming gala-like atmosphere of Sweden v Ukraine. Keown had zero time for JP's dead-air filling whimsy - regarding the Swedish coach's unique international stadium rating system, based on the quality of the sausages served - while a player lay injured.
Yay! They just mentioned James Ward-Prowse in the Switzerland v Spain game As in “that was too close to get up and down” and “not if you’re really good ….. James W-P …”
