Well I have managed to avoid being on here for a week again. (Sick and tired of all the abuse hurled at anyone who doesn't rate Bruce as a manager!) I couldn't believe how we set up against a very poor Arsenal defence! Fearing the worst when we went 1-0 down so quickly, they looked as if they could score for fun. Turner! Odd name as he has the turning circle of an articulated lorry! Richardson is not a LB. (He is barely a footballer) Sessegnon is not a striker. (But is a brilliant midfielder) Thanks to Sess's excellent workrate, usually from midfield we got back to 1-1, despite our managers efforts to just keep the score down. Then Bruce had time to think how can I **** this up? He worked it out brilliantly, take off the two players who were doing the business in Sess and Larson, bring on Whickham and start trying to be even more defensive. Sess's winning fouls up their half was re leaving our defence and actually leading to chances. Common sense to take him off so the ball came back at us none stop! Cattermole love him or hate him, was chasing everything in midfield, so take him off and give Arsenal free rein in there. Perfectly done, now just sit back against a set of forwards that are all very good with the ball at their feet and hope for the best! After all there's no chance of all those good dribblers getting a free kick on the edge of our box is there?
I agree Bruce has to leave and the sooner the better, he seems decent bloke but a fookin clueless manager I'm certainly of the fence
Never been on it mate or either side of it, I just call it as I see it. I never rated him before he came here but like the majority was willing to be proved wrong! Sadly every match just makes me realise just how bad a signing he was.
Iv'e stuck with him long enough, sick of trying to defend him and the error of his ways.. That line-up today was the last straw. To many errors in his choice for me...
Aye mate, I have no axe to grind with anyone defending Bruce as we all see games differently. But even the most die hard of his supporters must think his team selection is wrong. This wasn't the old Arsenal we were up against, this was a struggling team with an air of defeat around them. If Bruce really thought he needed to just keep the goal tally down, why the **** not just go for it and stick our forwards on from the start. We have some very good players and I honestly believe, if we went into that game to play, to try to win, we would have done just that. Or at the worst came away with a draw.
Wait till we visit either of the Manchester clubs...Hopefully someone new will be at the helm by then.
We hit back by playing ball to feet and many of our best moves were from Sess on the left hand side - so why isn't he playing there? And 2, why wasn't Ji; a player very much in form, playing the striker role? I ****ing despair! I'm no longer sitting, it's bring MON for me now -tomorrow or MONday? please log in to view this image -that'll do nicely.
To me if he went for it from the off, he would probably get less stick off the fans if the team was having a go. and then lost a hard fought match. His defensive mentality is a liability imho, as he only seems to have one way to play. I have said before he doesn't have a plan B, I may be wrong, his plan B is to be more defensive.
From the man with the dodgy knee's... How many goals is that now for him? Seems like another one we missed out on.
Odd how they happen if you have a CF on, to put in any crosses isn't it? I wonder if Bruce is watching? May give him a clue on team selection.
