    Pickford and Walker solid.

Sterling is silencing a lot of doubters with his important goals

Don’t buy the whole Sterling narrative. He’s a very good player.

There will be people in here very quiet tonight, because they don’t like Sterling or Southgate for some bizarre reason

He is but is also so, so frustrating. Picks up so many good positions and is obviously an excellent dribbler of the ball, but then delays and dithers at the crucial moment and nothing comes of it. He is very, very lucky his awful backpass didn't lead to an equaliser.

For me, Grealish is the better player, if only for the fact that he knows what he wants to do before he has even received the ball. Makes all the difference.

Play them both then. Clearly works. Saka was good again though.

Thought Shaw had a very good game today, got up the wing nicely. More of that please, lad!

Agree what’s been said about Sterling too. Very good player and doesn’t deserve the hate he gets. Personally I’d have picked a creative trio of Grealish, Mount and Foden at the start of the tournament to supply Kane with the likes of Sterling and Sancho to provide the speed from the bench but Sterling’s having a really good tournament so far and hopefully that continues.

Mount and Sancho have never produced for England IMO. I’ve been critical of Southgate but he’s best to trust in those who deliver for him.

Sterling’s decision making is poor. When he has time and is able to get his head up, he always seems to play the wrong ball or misplace a pass. When he plays instinctively, he’s more effective.

I haven't changed my mind. And I've explained my reasons often. Clearly Sterling has scored vital goals, but that doesn't mean nobody else could have if they were playing instead of him, or made better use of all the possession he has, which he generally wastes. He also rarely passes to Kane, which is one of the reasons Kane has had such a quiet tournament. Can you imagine if Son was Sterling and all he never passes to Kane? That is surely one of his most important jobs! Grealish has been far more effective with his possession in far less time than Sterling has had. But don't get the idea that I don't want England to win, I really do, I just think we could be far more effective with different players.

Sancho I’d agree on but Mount hasn’t been too bad for England.

Grealish has had far more of an impact though and they basically play in the same areas. 10s who slip left.

Anyway why are we typing here. It’s 3:15 and I need more beer!

That's the Express, so I'm not sure what that has to do with journalism

The real surprise is that somehow the first line isn;t slagging off Meghan Markle or the EU

You'd think they'd have swapped the Kool-Aid for Carling for one night, wouldn't you?
