England have a style which everyone seems to hate, but they have it down to a science it seems and usually teams who do that win tournaments. Think of Italy who were defensively incredible, the Greeks who mastered 11 at the back and scoring from set pieces. If England can continue to frustrate and unnerve teams with those wingers, they stand a very good chance.
And we apparently had doubts about our back line. Credit has to be given. @Roy Munson it can only be the impact of graham Jones because prior Southgate had no idea. I say that tongue in cheek but actually you have to give the management absolute credit. If we win. Does Jones get stardom status?
I like the pattern of this dialogue…. I think a better set of attackers might have presented England with a different problem…. But they are lessening as the tournament goes on…. So I’ll approve Roy’s “we have a chance” comment (not that that’s rocket science, ya ****!) I’m watching Ukraine/Sweden and don’t see ‘unbeatable’. I wish you could all come round and have a beer!! I’ve seen nothing other than Italy early on to warrant any concern. The teams that could challenge us have more or less gone out.
Yeah they're awful to watch it's peak results football.. I'm not keen on it but if we win something it'll be OK If rather it be entertaining though
Both **** tonight, but both capable of turning in a good performance. If they watched our games earlier in the tournament I don't think they'd be scared either. We can't take anything for granted. We have to earn a victory against either team.
Great is pushing it, the whole defence was quite good though. He just gets himself into daft situations like when he fouled on the edge of the box straight after we scored, but maybe I'm being harsh
I don't think we would be worried about either tbh. Obviously they have got quality but I'd say we've probably got the strongest overall squad. Any team is hard from here on in tho
Defensively we look very solid indeed. I've been very surprised. Maguire has been excellent since his return.
