Hell of a shootout, you could just feel Mbappe wasn't going to score his one.

On another note, the officiating throughout this tournament has been exceptional and that includes the prompt and efficient use of VAR.

Can we sack the rogues gallery we have in the EPL and pay this lot stupid money to come officiate instead?

Thought that many times. We throw so much £ at PL I’m surprised there hasn’t been a clambering before. Don’t suppose the PGMOL would allow tho. Strike the “suppose”.

They've been together all tournament. Pougatch was even brave enough to mention that match where they had a massive bust up in the tunnel.

France defended like Southampton tonight. Two Centre backs exposed due to the fullbacks being too high up the pitch.

Whilst you were watching penalties, Somerset quietly won a T20 game!!!! Finding form perhaps at the right time! Notice Hampshire are below Middlesex! <laugh>

I was watching it on my iPad! And there was no quietly about it, Tom Banton completely destroyed the Kent bowlers, ably assisted by Devon Conway, who is thinking of changing his name to Somerset. Anyway this isn't the cricket thread.

Did anyone else notice a Moroccan flag being waved by the French supporters last night? I thought that was great as it is indicative of the diverse make-up of the French team. It would be great if a few Nigerian and Jamaican flags were seen in the crowd tonight as an indication of the diversity of England's team and support.

Harry Maguire's parents come from the Easter Islands. What does that flag look like?

I know it's been said before, but Maguire does have more than a passing resemblance to Kryten from Red Dwarf.
