I was on a Barcelona fans forum, they are a bit like us with Alioski, they don’t mind him going but they all think he’s a decent player, great going forward but does not track back, they feel we got him too cheap. Interestingly a few Barcelona fans commented how Bielsa will soon sort out his problem in “failing to get back”.
Seems it's all going to kick off this week. Seems very positive signs on the players above mentioned fingers crossed.
Think it was Forza this morning that said maybe Bielsa has allowed Cunha to go to the Olympics, but couldnt allow Meslier to go because we may not have cover for him. Then I read an article by Joe Wainman and this bit sort of makes sense. I also heard Orta say it… However speaking on his YouTube channel, Wainman felt that in his opinion, the deal could potentially drag on due to Cunha’s participation in this summer’s Olympic Games in Tokyo: “My opinion is I’m more pro than I am against. The reason I say that is I remember Victor Orta saying specifically, ‘he doesn’t expect the winger to be done until late in the window’. I believe the reason that is, is because Matheus Cunha is at the Olympics. OK, that’s my genuine opinion.”
That's a worry, £15m for someone who was valued 3 times that 2 years ago. Augustin was the same, look how that turned out.
Gessa I think the difference to two years ago is the money has gone out of the game and they’re all mostly skint.
The madness in football: Chapter 8 Middlesborough sack Woodgate who was given no money and had players sold from under him. He was replaced by Warnock who had money but couldnt do anything. Woodgate goes to a failing Bournemouth to hep save their season and got them into the play off finals and was sacked. Parker at Fulham had the most expensive squad in the Championship and managed to squeeze them promotion. Parker had a squad valued at more than Leeds Utd but failed very badly alongside Sheff Utd, and WBA and were relegated. Parker replaces Woody at Bournemouth and I hope it all goes badly
