Just over 100 cases and people are made to stay at home, we have over 100,000 cases and everyone is carrying on pretty much as normal. I know they've managed to keep the deaths really low, but they're paying a high price in other ways. We're going to have to learn to live with this virus, it's going nowhere and you can't keep people locked away forever.
I agree but that means learning to live with some basic lifestyle changes at the same time and a lot of people will baulk at that. I think masks could be with us for a long time yet, an element of social distancing needs to become second nature, hand sanitiser all over the place. Just have to accept that living any sort of acceptable life has become a little more risky. Can't see safe standing at football happening any time soon!

I told the nurse who gave me my second about two people in my household who refuse to and she said I should try convince them to talk to their GP as he might be able to convince them. I know a nurse who has worked on a Covid-19 ward and she says this disease is heartbreaking. A bloke at our place who had it was on the Covid ward at HRI and there were grown men crying on that ward because they thought they were going to die. GET THE JAB!
At some point we (the tax paying public) are going to have to pay for all the money borrowed to keep people at home during the pandemic. We need to get back to normal asap. The only proven way to do this is by vaccination. We can't hide forever, even if we want to.

Well, I don't know since a lot of the population don't bother with it anymore. If they did and we're all vaccinated I think that's our best shot at getting on with life again. Like you said earlier we can't hide forever.
But in places where you consider it appropriate, why not wear one anyway? It won't hurt you or anyone else and it's not an inconvenience in any way. Let me put it it this way... I know someone with similar beliefs. I challenged him to send me his predictions based on his 'obvious' (his words) conclusions from the planes going over, where he claims they're 'making clouds'. It's amazing how often the 5 day weather forecast was a better predictor than their plane spotting method. I've asked him a few times why they seem to have had it on suck, as the skies were much clearer after the cloud making planes had passed over. He still sticks with his 'theory'. As best as I can tell, it's based on an experiment Bill Gates is trying to run, where he's proposing sending a balloon 12 miles above Finland, with 2kg (bag of sugar size) of chalk to release. He's got scientists lined up to measure the reaction. There are a lot of scientists opposing it. I do wonder if the cranks actually realise how big a ****ing cloud is.
I don't 'argue' with them, I just see it as easy amusement. As your dad said, you're wasting your time trying to point out the gaping holes in their argument, or steering them towards the actual issues, as they simply ignore it, and trot out more nonsense. They never seem to want to do anything about it, other than whine and call everyone else thick and naive. I've said I'll help them put the Court Case together, if they can provide any meaningful evidence.
