Yeah, or silly little in jokes that they think are really clever. At times its like you're watching the match on one channel, but the sound is for something on a totally different channel coming in over the top every now and again. Tyldesley and McCoist on one of the early matches drove me up the wall with their crap. It was more a informative commentary when the cat started puking behind the sofa. Oh for the days of Brian Moore, with Jimmy Greaves alongside him. And Brian Clough doing the studio analysis! Mexico 86 anyone?
Slightly before my time as I'm just a young pup , but I wish they would just do their ****ing jobs tbh. They aren't commediens so don't try to be. I'm not a commentator so guess what, I won't try to be one! All the small talk is ammeturish and Dixon is ****ing woeful either way. Hasn't got a funny bone in his body which is crazy considering the characters he's been in the Arsenal dressing room with.
There was one made a joke out of the Scottish COVID thing the other day. Something like “Regardless of the virus, they’ll all be unable to play in the next round” it’s embarrassing how bad they are. BBC are a hundred times better
