I'm going to say good luck today, out of decency. However I'm hoping we win <ok>

well according to indications from Pardew Obertan is a better player than Ben Arfa so maybe he will have a good game :)

Just kidding Obertan needs to be released <laugh>

I think he missed being called up for the Brazil squad because of it, but he was 50/50 to be back.
Lennon's not even made it back to the bench yet, either.
Might see both against Rubin Kazan.

Why have all the Newcastle fans suddenly given up?
You're unchanged from the last game, aren't you?

Perhaps they were hoping we'd field our europa league side...

Irritating that Santon and Ben Arfa are on the bench, but I'm not too concerned. It isn't our optimal formation, but it still works.

In fact, I'm happier now due to Spurs team. I only wanted Cabaye, Tiote and Ben Arfa in midfield to deal with Modric, Parker, Sandro and co, but the actual CM's are only Parker and Livermore. Good players, but Cabaye and Tiote should take control.

The wingers are indeed a worry, mind.

We started well, but then Newcastle had the better of most of the half.
We didn't keep the ball well enough and we lacked creativity, with Bale, Modric and van der Vaart all drifting out of the game.
Losing King was a blow, too.

The scoreline's a little unfair on Newcastle at the moment, but it was a poorly timed challenge by Taylor.
We need to up our game in the second half.

This. We have been the better team for most of this half and if Taylor didn't make that challenge I'd agree the 0-0 would have been a fair half time score. Hoping Pardew subs off Obertan though, for our sake.

Yeah it was definitely a pen, but frustrating as we've played well and been the most threatening. Like to see Ben Arfa and Marveaux asap.

  16. Jesus! <doh>

    1-1.

We are going to lose this if Harry doesn't sort out our tactics. They are dismal. Modric hasn't turned up, yet.

  17. VDV has got to come off for Defoe, surely? It might get Moddy playing a bit better.

  18. GET IN!!!!!

    Defoe!

Should have been on from the start and we would have had this sown up.

I'd say that was a fair result, both teams had their moments and it was a very good second half to watch. Best of luck for the rest of the season <ok>
