Would you expect Chelsea to have a clause in the loan deal that states he has to play / start a number of matches for City? He had a decent loan spell at Accrington last season until he injured his shoulder that cut his season short.

He has signed in time for training to resume on Monday and then head up to Scotland with the team for the initial training camp. I wonder if anyone else may be joining next week? Hopefully a striker may come in.
So that’s Baxter for Long Cannon for Slater Moncur for Crowley Randall for Whyte. Obviously more to come in but not sure this is stronger than last season. Early days I guess.

From what I've read, Cannon isn't a like for like replacement for Slater. I think he can play the deeper role but he's better as a box to box. I'm assuming a Docherty backup. Baz from the HDM said we'd like to bring Whyte back too, he even said we might offer Crowley a deal if we can't get other targets. Throw in the links to Mendes Gomes recently too & I think it's fair to say we're looking for another wide player. Therefore, Randall will probably take Scott/Mayer's place in the squad. I would say it's a fair bit stronger. 4 in and hopefully another 4/5 to go.
Agree. But also there's the fact that the young squad will be another year older, stronger and wiser than at the start of last season. Most are likely to keep taking strides forward. And hopefully McCann has learnt A LOT too.
For me, we still need four; one centreback to replace Burke one defensive midfielder, hopefully Slater a back up defensive midfielder, unless we are keeping Smallwood another wide forward to rotate with KLP, Wilks, Randall assuming Scott is going the other way. Would also like to see another central forward, but there's not many around.
