And only 28 out of 58,000 from all test events tested positive.

Heavily-attended events in the US that were only open to people who had been vaccinated showed basically no transmission. We're fast approaching the point where, within much of North America/the UK/Western Europe, the only people who are at risk are those who have willfully put themselves at risk, and things will be normal for those who have gotten vaccinated. And there isn't a hell of a lot that can be done about that beyond hoping that they decide that they want nice things again.

Pretty sure you won't need a vaccine to attend clubs and similar events.

You will need a negative test though each time. Easier to just get vaccinated TBH.

Well yeah but I read his post as only those vaccinated will be able to have nice things which I'm pretty sure will turn out to be nonsense.

The testing will only be temporary, and those who are vaccinated will still have to do it most likely.

Vaccinated people won't be required to get tested.

Yeah I'm not convinced by that yet. So far vaccinated people have been required to provide negative tests as all at many events.

    We'll see I guess.

No they haven't. If you've been fully vaccinated and it's 2 weeks after your 2nd jab you just need proof of vaccination at test events. That's what I've read for the test events I've looked at.

Vaccinated people can still catch and transmit. My wife's uncle and aunt in Indonesia did and were very ill for a few days, didn't need hospitalising but it was touch and go. Without vaccination the worse outcome much more likely. The delta varient is sweeping through Indonesia to.

You will if the venue requires it. And in the medium term, a lot of venues will.

This is something that many British people probably don't appreciate: A large proportion of the rest of the world is controlling the virus rather better than we are, so people's concern about being able to return from holiday, only to be told to quarantine, needs to be extended to include the need to quarantine on arrival in many countries. As such, a fortnight's holiday may turn out to be ten days isolating in an airport hotel, four days in a resort, then 10 further days isolating in a hotel on return to Britain.

That's if they're allowed entry, for either CV-19 or brexit regulations. https://www.dutchnews.nl/news/2021/...tish-nationals-from-entering-the-netherlands/
    From https://dutchreview.com/news/ten-brits-refused-entry-into-the-netherlands-thanks-to-brexit/ and CV-19 regs
"As for the Britons barred from entry in Schiphol, a spokesman for the Royal Netherlands Marechaussee says they were indignant that they were not allowed to visit the Netherlands," reports NOS.

“They all have a negative PCR test, but they forget the basic rule, that it must concern a necessary trip, for example for work or due to serious private circumstances,” says spokesman Robert van Kapel. “People from a safe country are also allowed to pass, such as Australia or Singapore, but the United Kingdom is certainly not a safe country.”

Sorry, Holiday Industry....but I can see no sense in attempting a holiday at the moment. There is always a chance that rules will change without warning. You need to breathe, eat and drink....you do not NEED a holiday.

You don't need an international holiday, those that book and get caught out by changing rules do so at their own peril. Plenty of in country destinations, we bought a canal cruiser with our holiday funds and will be pootling around the Dutch waterways this year. I think the Island will be busy this year too.

Yeah I can live without foreign travel for another 12 months. Feel for those in the industry mind.

This is exactly it. We don’t need foreign travel but it buggers up the travel industry. However, I’d much rather only one industry get affected than the whole country with further waves and restrictions.

I received a most unwanted text on Thursday, telling me someone at a gathering I attended last week had tested positive for Covid. Bit of a drag, but easy enough to visit a test centre on my way home from work. Got the result within an hour, negative as expected. Thing is though, the woman who tested positive - I spoke to her yesterday, she seems fine - has had both jabs.
