British Antarctic Territory is on the Green List for travel. I’m off. With a few dogs and a sled. I may be gone for some time.
So about the 550m Test & Trace tests that Dido Harding has lost Let me repeat that 550,000,000 Test & Trace tests that Dido Harding has lost Gee, I wonder why The Sun suddenly found a year-old photo from the CCTV camera in Mancock's office...
That 550k number is a bit nonsensical. Anyone can apply for a free pack of lateral flow tests. There are seven in the pack. A lot of people won't bother to use them or won't report the result. Many others will just use one and keep the rest in case of symptoms. So of course the vast majority of them will not be traceable. This is one of the least wrong things that test and trace have done.
The fact she's already acting like she's got the NHS top job with her odious comment about the NHS being overly reliant on overseas staff is reason to wonder if an NHS strike is on the cards Also reason to wonder if the BBC will mention it, unlike the various protests by NHS staff last summer that they pretended weren't happening...
And just about everything else. Sending out Lateral Flow tests to anyone who wants one is about the only sensible thing they have done.
There's a difference between sending out tests and receiving them, as the tests themselves have a QR code (as well as a phone number to call) which takes the number in a kit down from seven to one I know this because I had to do a couple of the things last week, thank you very much certain dickhead who asked me to help them set up some new furniture and only told me he'd come into contact with somebody who'd tested positive after the sofa was in place Oh I was happy with that...
I don't understand. I've got a pack of 7 test kits and each test kit has a different QR code. So even if everyone does one a week then it will take 7 weeks to get all the results back. In practice many people will use zero or one test kit or not report the result so they would expect to have lost track of at least 80% at any given time.
Or longer if Serco loses the data, or never logs it because they don't know how Excel works (which is GCSE IT-level stuff)
Things he didn't resign over - 150,000 entirely preventable deaths - Discharging Covid patients into care homes - Dodgy contracts to members of his own family - Dodgy contract to the landlord of his pub - Dodgy contract to the guy he cucked while boinking his aide - Dry humping a female journalist on live TV Things he did resign over - The Sun finding CCTV footage from his office of him boinking his aide a year after the fact, which has far more questions than answers
I assume that he's actually resigned over something else. The picture came out? Nothing. The video came out? Nothing and Boris backed him publicly. Why would he quit after that? We all know that they love a Sunday exclusive in the papers and the right-wing media are after him, for some reason. I think there's more.
