Weekend here already and besides England boring our way through to a decent game against Germany next Tuesday, not much has changed.

This weekends main talking points are:

    • Nahitan Nandez, a player we have known about since 2019 when Bielsa first tried to get him. A great player who could be a game changer for Leeds Utd, but is he actually another Rodrigo De Paul? last Summer we were all hoping the De Paul deal was going to happen but we decided against it because Udinesi wanted £30m, well guess what Nandez price is also £30m and we decided De Paul was too rich for us yet, so why would we do it this time? Yes both brilliant players and Nandez has played 6 different positions for Caliagri this season, and why Bielsa covets him.
    • Another player spoken about over the last couple of days is Chile international Ben Brereton Diaz, who plays for Blackburn Rovers. Chile were knocked out of the Copa America last night?
    • Noa Lang still spoken about and now regular press releases from Club Brugge saying no we can keep Lang as we dont have to sell?
    • By now Radz may be the new owner of Seria A team Salernitana who have just won promotion. The owners are having to sell the club because they cant own 2 teams in Seria A and they already own Lazio. Today is deadline day for doing a deal though so we should hear something. Lottito the owner is a mate of Radz but he wants £70m and Radz offered £50m. If a deal isn't done today Lottito breaks the law unless he puts the club into a 'Trust' and pays someone to manage a sale as he will no longer be able to do anything himself. Radz is in the process f building 'Leeds United Football Group' which makes loads of sense. We wont be in the same league as City Group, or QSI or Red Bull but having clubs in a few different countries gets around all sorts of legislation on taxes, loan market, transfers, work permits, academy players and much more more.
    • So far this Summer we have released 2 academy players to Fleetwood, sold Olly Casey to Blackpool, loaned out Ryan Edmondson to Fleetwood, said Alfie McCalmont is going out on loan to a League 1 club and now told Niall Huggins to look for a new club. Huggins 20yo has been part of the 23s and 1st team set up.He has been at the club 14 years and has a contract until 2023 and in fairness I had a lot of time for him. However Bielsa has told him he will not be able to break through next season as we have a new left back coming in and probably a new Left winger. Huggins will be a top player some time soon and I wish him luck, but being ruthless is the only way to improve and not carry too many dead heads. I think a lot more to come with Shackelton, Stevens, Hosannah, Gotts also going out on loan to league 1 too

Is that Radz intention, to build a football group? Or is he preparing to sell to the 49s? The former sounds good so long as Leeds remains his primary focus.

He has mentioned it a couple of times and got the idea from his mate at QSI, his new board of Directors has a couple of specialists in the field like the former owner and CeO of Fiorentina. He has also said in recent months that having the 49ers on board allows him time to do due diligence on some clubs that could be added to the Leeds portfolio?

Maybe I’m old fashioned but I don’t like the sound of a Leeds “portfolio” just a Leeds United back in with the giants of English football.

Daniel Levy football and business genius or total incompetent.

Levy sold the club or most of it to Joe Lewis a billionaire. He then had the new stadium built which is on a par with any football stadium ever built anywhere in the world.

the pandemic has hit everyones finances but due to the new stadium Spurs are heavily in debt.

So why get rid of one of the worlds best coaches in Pochetino. Well he never got them back into the CL final and was going backwards in the league table. However Pochetino was told to sell players and wasn't given cash to buy the players he needed. He was sacked and Jose took over and took the club backwards. Levy then decides to try and get Pochetino back but PSG say no chance. Levy then tried every top manager around and after 2 months still hasn't got a manager. Lets face facts here, Levy can only afford a manager who is available because he is already paying millions to Jose and cannot afford to pay millions in compensation to another club for taking their manager. He has also got no money for new players now whoever takes over, without going even further into the red. Maybe if Pochetino had been given a few quid he would have taken the club forward again and been back in the CL.

any other work environment would have sacked Levy in disgrace because the shareholders know the manager is more important than the CEO and he crapped on his manager and sacked him. He then brought in and paid millions for another manager and then had to pay him off with millions and then trued to get the original bloke back. So far 3 top managers have walked away simply because they dont like the set up and have no transfer budget. Spurs deserve Big Sam or Warnock

Here’s an idea, they could always install a manager who can actually coach and improve the existing squad, and the only outlay initially would be for the manager and his entourage. Pity the only manager that springs to mind capable of doing that already has a job at Leeds United and he ain’t going to Spurs :emoticon-0136-giggl

That’s the problem with Spurs, always thinking a big name chequebook manager would be the answer. Never mind the coaching aspect, let’s splash the cash and the rest will take care of itself. Well that went well for them <whistle>

    Deluded twats.

Bielsa would not fit at spurs. A certain type of player is needed for his work ethic. Leeds have a squad playing for each other and to improve themselves. Spurs players would not do the training because they are prem mentality and would try to get him out. If that failed they would just bail out and onto the next mega contract.

Agree with that. It’s a strange one when you think Spurs players are probably on double the money Leeds players earn and yet do half as much in training.

So hard work and honesty does pay off sometimes. We’re reaping the benefits.

Yep, Kane can’t run for shyt, can you imagine the state of him and most of the spuds after a murderball session. We would have to field the 23s rather than these sooo great super athletes……

Son Heung-Min is the only one of their players who could handle a Leeds training session.

You raise an interesting point. Did Bielsa perhaps come to Leeds because the players were Championship standard & didn't have a 'Billy big bollox' attitude, therefore it made them more malleable than players at any PL club? There might well be something in that - I can't see him dealing with a large proportion of PL players - or rather, I can't see them dealing with him. One to ponder ...

He would truly be a magnificent signing for us, but it'll never happen. Sadly. :( If Kane leaves, there's a big opportunity for him to be top dog.

I also happen to know that Kane would never sign for us. He couldn't even say 'Leedth', far less play our way. :D

    Spurs, haha,
    Can't find a manager,
Going to lose their best player,
    The fans hate their owner,
Oh they do have a nice shiny stadium,
Couldn't happen to a nicer club,
    <laugh>
