It's usually a good idea if you're not sure about something to go with humour, like you did. Unfortunately there are some topics that are increasingly becoming off limits. We can learn a lot from each other if we remain open. It's far more beneficial to talk about ideas than to shut them down. Ps how many tshirts did you order?
Equally, on a forum like this we don't really know much about each other. One could feel passionate about a topic, it may even be close to their heart because it's directly effects them in some way. Others won't have that link and perhaps don't care at all but like to have an opinion on everything (looking at you MITO ). Then you get the wums or just plain ignorant folk. I think an opinion on this subject but it doesn't effect my directly, nor do I care enough to have investigated it so you could put me in the 'ignorant' category I guess, hence me opting not to comment.
I was looking at it in a similar way to any other example of trying to get around the rules in sport. The very idea of sports is to be sporting. Transgenderism in the general sense doesn't interest me very much. Although the older you get, the more you tend to have an opinion on everything.
the nature of some sports is that you could send a man out then a woman and then whoever next and its no issue and have a ranking by 1 or 20 genders if you like. 10m diving, pole vault, weightlifting, high jumps, whatever. If you want then do it that way.
I find that the older I get the less ****s I give, let them all have at it, I'll just have a beer and watch.
In the interest of equality just bin off women's sport altogether and allow them to play in men's teams and men's events.
Oh yes and allow whatever drugs athletes want to make it an even playing field. That sorts that issue out as well. I should be in charge of all this, I'd have it sorted in a week.
reality shows that the reality of competitive sports is that winning is what matters - examples being drug taking , "playing" the classification system in paraolympics , having a small electric motor on a bike in mountain biking .
Once I have this all sorted I'm going to host a new series of Record Breakers replacing the late Roy Castle as host. The theme tune will be changed slightly to. Medication Medication Medication That's what you need If you wanna be the best and wanna beat the rest Medications what you need IF YOU WANNA BE A RECORD BREAKER!
All athletes want to win, that's their main driving force. Depending on the level, of course, there won't be many who are in it just to take part. But tbf, only a very small percentage are prepared to cheat. It's why there's uproar when a 'winner' has been found to be doping.
