Yes he is. However, when it comes to tournaments England fans are never happy. The press build us up to be world beaters before the tournament and a lot of the fans join in. When we play well and lose we moan that all that matters is the results. When we play badly and win we say its all about the performance. Of course we want to see them playing great football and winning, but in tournaments its all about qualifying from the group and then taking each game as it comes. If we play like that we will probably lose the next game. But maybe, just maybe......

Apparently it’s important to many people that when we lose the first knockout game, it should be at Wembley

Well now that you have accepted it, will you be joining us and start living in it?

You lot don't live in reality! The most delusional fans in the country at club level and at international level.

Is it not more realistic to accept that we're not world beaters and as such should be happy to have qualified from the group rather then moaning that we didn't play like the best team in the tournament?

Joe… that’s one of those retorts that doesn’t stand up to being analysed … as it doesn’t have an actual conclusion. ‘I accept reality’ means “I have my opinion about what will happen” whereas “can you join us and live reality” means something completely different.

and this is REALLY annoying because I shouldn’t be worried about analysing my mates’ comments on the forum… I should be elated by, and lost in, the footy!

take that in good humour, please

Who's done the latter? More delusions it appears.

The reality is that England are boring and looking at the history it's highly unlikely they'll win the competition.

England are crap there's no two ways about it they've got absolutely no chance whatsoever of winning the competition.

I don't know how much more realistic I can be.

Of course it's unlikely. It's always unlikely. The manager's job is to maximise that opportunity, no matter how unlikely it is. That won't always give us the football we want to see.

    Top of the group.
Job done, move on to the knock out stages.

Good run-outs for Maguire and Henderson.

maybe I’m just too old for looking on the bright side. And I support the toon. And I’m a divorcee. And PIF have disappeared in the rear view mirror. And work’s a chore at the moment. And other stuff.

Life isn't always about doom and gloom, there are occasions that you are able to see the brightness, if you give it a chance. <ok>
