I'd go with Rice and Bellingham for the deeper lying mids tonight. Grealish on the left, Foden in the middle and Sancho on the right. Kane up front. Same defence as Friday. Give that a whirl and see how it goes.
I wouldn't be too averse to ----------------Pickford---------------- -Trippier-Stones-Maguire-Shaw- -----------Rice--Bellingham--------- --Sancho----Grealish-----Saka--- -----------------Kane------------------- But based on what you are saying and what I am anticipating I think it will be more like ----------------Pickford----------------- -Walker-Stones--Maguire--Trippier- ------------Rice-----Phillips------------ --Rashford---Grealish----Sterling-- ------------------Kane------------------- Given that its a free hit i'm hoping we will try something a bit different and add in a few squad players to see how they perform / keep them match fit. I'd also give Kane a rest because he looks like he needs it and let DCL have a bit of practice.
According to the leaks in the press (pinch/salt) the line up is as follows: ---------Pickford--------------- Walker Stones Maguire Shaw ------Rice----Phillips---------- Saka Grealish Sterling ---------Kane------------ Shouldn't be too long until we find out. I'd put in Bellingham (Mount if he was available) for Phillips, Foden for Saka & Sancho for Sterling.
I'm not convinced by Sancho yet. I wouldn't be dropping Foden either; without sounding too Lampard/Gerrard I think he might improve with Mount out of the side. Grealish in for Mount. Maybe change the RB. Unchanged other than that but need Phillips to be more box to box.
Starting line up as leaked then. Odd that Foden has started the first 2 games and now completely dropped. Strange
That'll be the bloke who's scored our only goal? Agree he's not been great though. Not too keen on that team but let's see what happens. Let's hope Grealish can prove his point. Come on England!
Yep. Southgate just confirmed on interview that’s why he has left him out. He expects to still be without Mount
Correcto. I am actually surprised at the level of progressive selection today, would have had Sancho and Bellingham in there for one of Rice/Phillips and Sterling though. Sancho was labelled ‘inexperienced’ the other day by the England camp. Let that sit for a moment.
But Saka is clearly experienced enough to start... Hope Saka plays a blinder today but seems odds to use that excuse for Sancho then play a teenager who has had a few good games for Arsenal
