Rafa Benitez has held further discussions with Everton’s owners, to take an important step closer to the manager’s job.

We understand secret talks were held at the weekend, with the former Liverpool manager’s representatives thrashing out the finer details of a deal which now looks set to be confirmed in the coming days.

A backlash from fans last week - with thousands making clear their anger at the prospective appointment - seemed to have dampened the enthusiasm of majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri and his backers.

But that did not stall talks completely, and the Benitez camp remain confident that the Everton hierarchy will confirm a contract after several positive meetings.

I doubt Everton fans are that bothered at seeing the back of him. He never improved them and his football was hard to watch, imo.
You mad bro they fuming about the way he left. In hindsight yeh i guess now its **** off and move on but then..... That **** stung like a muther fuker <laugh>

Paul Joyce is calling it, and he’s usually right when it comes to us, unfortunately.

Sounds like the owner is going to employ who he wants & see what happens.

I honestly think its not a bad choice, but I wouldn't want an x Sunderland manager so I know why the fans are not happy.

Still dont believe this will happen like but its good fun<laugh>
