Get what you are saying and there aren’t league tables upto u13s I think sorry for not making clear I didn’t mean in football I mean more in general The general attitude of sports day is It not the winning or losing it’s the taking part etc the Australians have the perfect mindset to me and it’s where we don’t seem to be able to cope for me all sport should be a battle even children but they need to be taught how to win correctly we don’t in this country drives me potty I will rant all night so going to leave it still no idea if I have clarified but it’s the treating winning as an important part of the game and winning in the right manner if that makes sense lol totally agree on the grassroots coach thing btw Way too many do that - very annoying My other pet hate at grass roots is when a team places a forward between the goalie and the last defender and just lumps it to them to win - Whilst we haven’t had offside up to now I have always coached my team to play as though they are offside Fairly confident I will see the benefits next year
That's a bit of a myth tbh Bumps. We'll hear stories of Sports Days but most schools (prior to Covid) have team sports which are played in competitions between a cluster of schools e.g. football, cricket, netball etc. with leagues. Trust me, they play to win. The teacher assigned to managing them (usually the PE coordinator) takes it as a matter of pride, you should listen to the **** they give 10/11 year olds from the touchline The sports day is a one off sunny summer's day event, winding down the end of the year. Nobody takes that seriously, it's just a bit of a laugh for kids/parents and teachers to have a day off. It's nowhere near a serious sporting event.
I know but that is the ethos of the Brit athlete Anyway - Just an opinion gonna get back in my box now and watch the nation get wound up over the euros will be great if we can do something Will be nice to see the nation buzzing again forgot to say great shout @Libby about iniesta Totally agree And it makes you wonder just how many we have missed through our approach
Gay as ****. If I played for Holland, I’d have snapped the **** in half while he was waving to his daughter in the stands. Save that **** for after the game.
And Hungary too. A team who won their group in the last Euros, finishing above the eventual winners Portugal in the process. If I was Hungarian I'd be looking at that group and crying, they're a good team but Jeez that's harsh.
We've qualified already? That bastard Southgate should be sacked Kane should be dropped. Oh **** it beat them all on the soles of their feet.
God I hope we see a reaction tonight. CR aren't bad in fairness. Hope we score more than one goal! Interesting to see whether they react well or badly to the post Scotland fall out.
I'm hoping that they'll be raring to go to get it out their system. A fast start is vital imo. Score in the first 20 and think we'll win relatively comfortably. Fail to and I think it'll be a long night.
Southgate will set up for the draw. Scotland will work their socks off and **** it up somehow. They won't make it, they're Scottish.
Could have done this sooner The crowd capacity at Wembley will be increased to more than 60,000 for the semi-finals and final of Euro 2020, says the UK government. It means the stadium will be at 75% capacity for the games.
It's as I had previously said somewhere on the site, Boris has been playing to the tune of UEFA regarding the footie. This is ever since we were told we couldn't hold the Champions League Final in the UK, because they had something like 2-3k important financial backers who needed to be allowed to attend. So in my subjective opinion, the travel restrictions were lifted to Portugal to cover our fans attending there, proof in the pudding that shortly after the event Portugal were removed from the Green list. Data my arse. He's gone and done the same again, I knew he would when the subject got raised once again, with threat of Budapest beckoning. I've no problem with any of the above, what I have a problem with is the Covid rules being bent to accomodate certain situations. Some might suggest that it's applying commonsense, again, I don't argue with that, just a shame British family holidaymakers had to pick up the cost of cancelling their holidays early, under the guise of 'data' rather than the truth, which was everything was done to accomodate the footie, and I refuse to believe otherwise. *Liverpool.
