Neah can't see that. He stated 2 years ago that he would like to manage them. His wife has been telling him to take the job. His agent was pushing hard for him to get the job. I can't see after 5 interviews and pre-contract agreement, with transfers being okayed by him, him then deciding a couple of banners would stop him. Remember he suffered much worse at Chelsea and carried in regardless. Will be an interesting week regardless. Palace and Spurs are still without managers. I don't think the door is shut in Everton either.

Not true though, as If Benítez was holding on for Newcastle, then why did he hold at least 2 meetings with Everton and obvs pitched himself for the job? He’d have not put himself forward or said ‘no thanks’ when he got a call, to claim it’s all about Newcastle is utterly mental.

He actually had 5 meetings with the board last week. 2 of which were just with Moshiri. 1 meeting came after the banners were placed and Rafa was said to have told the board that he believed he could win the fans over. Talksport said on Wednesday that Everton had offered him a contract. Lots of sources said he had agreed to a pre-contract. They just had to iron out the smaller details, which was rumoured to be the Friday meeting. He has apparently given his blessing for certain transfers to take place. Either its all a load of bollocks or the talks were very advanced and still could be for all we know. If Rafa was concerned about joining back with us, he wouldn't have held talks beyond say the first meeting with them. As surely if he is the 1st choice for the Saudis and is in Stavelelys ear, then he would be pretty clued up about what is happening. So you would think he would say no.
You just said only 2 days ago that Rafa was being told from the people closest to him to wait for the Newcastle job. Like I've just said it's more than likely that the fans reaction coupled with the potential of a newcastle return have lead to him not accepting Evertons contract offer and that Evertons owners have thought twice also. It doesn't have to be such a narrow view or 1 specific reason .. It's the full picture and everything in it.
It could well be, but Rafa has also said he doesn't want to take over a team mid way through a season again. Depending on how long the takeover takes to complete, the season could have already started. Unless Bruce is sacked and Rafa is hired before the takeover goes through, but then that raises another question.
What people say one day and do the next can be different. It's all bullshit if the moneys right and the projects right then it gets done.
Okay. Can any of this be proven beyond media speculation? He has held talks with several clubs if the media are to be believed. He was to be unveiled as Fenerbahce manager at one point according to the press. It's not mental to suggest that Benitez may be keen to return to NUFC under new owners to continue where he left off.
