OK, you went ages ago, but if you come back tomorrow, let me recommend a Ray Bradbury Short Story [or two]. It should last you until you fall asleep. It's called The Sound Of Thunder. If you finish that, you can read Dark They Were And Golden Eyed. Either you'll have a massive library, or you can download them for that Amazon Kindle thingy or they're online and you can print them off. Good stories.

Just watched recording of League Show..as fans have said we dominated the game. A draw away can be considered a good result but looks like we could have got all 3 points which would have let us go into Tuesday on the back of a win. Am taking the draw as encouraging in the sense that our position at the top is not false...Derby just behind us but couldn't live with us for long periods of the game. Clough said that Derby were worth a point but never tried to claim they might have won. We must make sure that missed chances do not cost us against West Ham. A win against WH would show our credentials but we mustn't take a bad result as a league definer...we do look the real deal (as Claridge said a couple of weeks back).

Even if we do lose a couple we have no right to complain, we were no way expected to get a good start like this or be in 1st place in the middle of October, top marks to Adkins but i woudnt want to pile on more pressure by having them maintain the position we are in now. I set my expectations low so i dont get dissapointed.

Winning your home games and drawing your away simply equals promotion!! With the odd few away wins

Exactly. Just looked at West Ham's results..like us they've played quite a few lower sides. Mustn't build them up in our minds into world beaters.
Should delete that bit 'like us' ...rechecked our results and discovered that we have played quite a few contenders such as Leicester, Birmingham, Cardiff and Derby.

Birmingham have come to us who have good players to win against ueropa clubs and we beat them 4-1 convincingly so I'm not worrying about west ham.. And with the 30,000 support on Tuesday they should be worried about us!!

Having seen the highlights on the FL show last night, I thought Solent (well, Blackmore) described Rickie's header at the end completely wrong. He made it sound like he'd missed a great chance, without anybody around him for company, similar to the one(s) he missed vs Cardiff and/or Burnley.

But honestly, having seen it, I thought he did the right thing. He had a couple of guys in the box (Connolly and someone else) who would have had a tap in if they'd committed themselves early to get into the 6 yard box.

See NA mentioned after the game that there was money available for January. Know it's hard to sign quality players but surely we now have a credible chance of Premier League football to throw in with the offer (should we keep up present form).

After being in the stadium for a bout an hour before kick off I noticed that once again Saints came out late to warm up! The last time i saw them do that was against Leicester and we conceded an early goal, same again yesterday late warming up and early goal conceded. Do you think coming out late for the warm up is having an effect on the teams start?

Was at the game and even at the time you could tell that it would be hard to score from that angle,he definitely done the right thing, just a shame it didn't fall to one of our guys.Heard somewhere after the game that Lambert missed a sitter and i was like WHAT?! never a sitter! Happy with the point, could and maybe should of got all 3 but that's football.

Watched my recording of this morning's MotoGP race from Australia, so well done Casey Stoner - first and last World Champion of the MotoGP 800cc era. Then went onto Birmingham v Leicester, and compared to the motorcycle racing, it was dull, dull, dull. I gave up at HT when I heard the comments of Savage and Claridge, who both also said the match was extremely poor. It confirmed to me that my expectations, after the bike race, weren't over the top. It was just poor. Whenever I see Saints, they are never less than exciting, these days, so it was also good to see a quick re-run of the highlights. Both Claridge and Savage are very impressed indeed with Saints. Claridge has given us the kiss of death by suggesting now that we can go all the way..! I'm not saying he's wrong, but it's the commentator's curse. Or should that be pundit's curse..? ;)

And as a little of an after-the-lord-mayor's-show type post, here's the power of SKY Sports. They've managed to turn our draw against Derby into a win. Read it soon, because some bright spark might shift their brain out of neutral to correct it: http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,12876_7244107,00.html

    Silly silly Sky!

P.S - Like the idea of NA showing the team the boxing showboat video on YouTube! Yet more motivational approach work from Nige!

It also looks as if at least one reader of the Echo has a wry sense of humour. Quite amusing:

"Okay its time for some home truths....
The five year plan looks to have failed. We are very nearly falling out of this division and will be playing the likes of....QPR, Blackburn Rovers and the mighty Fulham soon. If we keep this form up, it's just too positive and can't be condoned. Look we need to boycott the games, protest, & sack the board and the manager! Otherwise we will be playing in the (yuck) Premier league where it's all money and bling bling. We have to nip this in the bud now. Please Mr Lowe I beg you, come back & bring 6 or 7 managers along with 60 or so journeyman players. Failing that Milan Mandaric where are you..
    ."
