Or maybe it's a very clever plot to avoid winning the group and a potential last 16 clash with France or Portugal.
Great passion and organisation, not to mention some good football from Scotland. But, come on England, that is not remotely good enough. Sluggish and totally lacking creativity.
Foden was the only attacking player that looked lively and was causing them some problems. How has Sterling played this whole match? Replace Sterling with Grealish and suddenly they have two tricky players to think about not just one. You need a goal so you take your best goal scorer off? I know he’s looked poor but if you need a goal surely you change things around him to try and get more movement around him. If a chance falls in the box you want Kane on the end of it. Change the way you’re set up to cause them problems. We have the options! Not to mention the players we had on the pitch were too slow and ponderous. Disappointed but not surprised.
All down to Southgate, we have the players available, he has decided not to use them. Ends the ridiculous delusion that we can even put an iota of a stamp on this tournament, the second we face a serious side we are gone.
Typical group game IMO. Take the point to add to the win and its a good start to the tournament. Nothing to really get excited about from england, nothing to get upste about either. Scots will be happy and I got to cheer for both teams in the second half so not too fussed about the result.
Can I say I really don't like the ITV team as well. Love Wrighty but anything Roy Keane, ugh. Feels like a bunch of grumpy old men in the pub.
