Hard for me to comment as I missed the first England game. On the face of it I was against Sterling starting ahead of Grealish, but he scored the winner. No idea if he played well apart from that, have read mixed reports. I would also be against starting Trippier at LB when we have two very good LBs. Feels like we are doing that just to try and shoehorn someone who is good at set pieces into the side. Again no idea if this made us unbalanced as I imagine it would?
Sterling played pretty well all round, and the Trippier at LB thing didn't unbalance us as much as you might think, but it doesn't make either the right decision against Scotland.
He did just win la liga with Atletico as well, and you don't play in defence for Simeone unless you are a top defender. I just don't want him at left back
This. I was baffled by the Trippier thing but it's hard to say it didn't come off and Croatia didn't get a sniff. I'm fully expecting one of Shaw and Chilwell tomorrow night though.
Worst thing for England was greedy Sterling getting the goal. It justifies Southgate not playing his most influential player in Grealish. We will limp out if this tournament because lovely bloke Southgate could not see his tournament winner and it ain't selfish Sterling
I am sure, but I am asking Saints fans, who have been scarred by non selection of our players. You pair Of Gazza and Letiss in 90 you win a world cup. If Letiss plays in 96, we win the Euros. So as a Saints fan I get switched off from supporting England by the big club bias, and I kind of want Che, and Stuey to do well, and England to miss a bunch of free kicks from 23 ytds.
Whether Saints players are picked a lot means absolutely nothing to me in terms of my support tbh. The big club bias is also nonsense btw. We've got players from West Brom, Sheffield United and West Ham in the squad, among others. I hope we batter them 9-0.
Not me. I am supporting Nicolas Sturgeon's tartan army and I hope they win. Slime ball has lost Amersham, England will lose to Scotland and he will lose the Scottish referendum.
For me the ideal result would be a big England win, but one where Adams and Armstrong are the only bright spark for Scotland and even combine for a consolation goal. But England winning is the most important thing by a long way.
