I can understand them keeping it down if it's tight with the new rules, but the 2 'goals' have both been obvious offsides.
Disappointed with the Germans, deserved win by France. Did Werner even do anything when he come on, honestly don't know what people see in him.
France have got Hungary next. They'll beat them and that will be them through. They can afford not to go full throttle against Portugal, so I'd say it'll probably be England v Portugal in the last 16.
Dude tried to parachute into the stadium and got caught up on the wires for the overhead cam. Nearly span outta control into the crowd and then almost took Didier Deschamps head off.
That France v Germany game threatened to break out into a decent game after about 25 mins. But in the end it was a bit of a drab affair. France unlucky to have two well taken goals chalked off, but the right call was made for offside. They look good going forward, Griezmann, Mbappe and Benzema are going to get them goals. Germany looked well below par though and they will need to step it up big time, because with both France and Portugal winning, they are already looking at a tough ask to get out of the group phase.
I was on the phone at the time and just about caught deschamps ducking under his dugout while debris fell infront of him then saw some dude landing a fukin parachute
Tough ask to get out the group? Lol they likely only need to win one game. I don't think they looked that bad really. Final ball and finishing let them down but there's no shame in losing narrowly to France with an og. Portugal hardly looked convincing either. Wouldn't surprise me if Germany beat them in the slightest.
Dunno about that. Portugal scored 3 against Hungary and they’ve got Ronaldo who can always pull it out of the bag. Germany will probably beat Hungary, but I thought they looked pretty lacklustre going forward last night.
And it took them til the 83rd minute and a jammy deflection to score in the first place. I agree that Germany were lacking up top but they still only lost by one (own) goal to the best team in the competition so you'd expect them to fare better against worse opposition. Though France should have had a pen. I'd be staggered if they didn't get through the group. Still hoping they finish second.
The first games are difficult to judge. Teams can be a bit cautious and feeling their way into the comp. You'd expect Germany to get better, but to be honest that 1-0 against France flattered them. Two really good goals chalked off (correctly) from France and Germany were on the end of a comprehensive 3-0 whoop ass
The goals were chalked off correctly as you say so you can't really say 'If those illegal goals had counted' Lol. I don't think France created much either tbh. One shot on target for each side says it was a poor night in front of goal for both sides, a relatively drab game all round settled by an own goal. France defo deserved it though.
