But hey, I remember when we signed Alby Wilbraham loads of fans bitched about it at the time but he proved to be the target man that we had missed for years, I am sure either this guy or Smith will have the same response from some fans before he even kicks a ball in anger. If we get the sort of Alby type striker, I will be happy, for me he was the missing link in the promotion season. Mind you I thought Yates of Blackpool looked good at holding the ball up. Something that we desperately need.
Personally would like to see the guy from Rotherham and Yates from Blackpool sign-we don't have enough strikers at the club at present. Wells-Martin and these two would be a good mixture.

This could be a good option. The only issue might be his wages? Pretty sure he would want to be No1 LB, not competing with DaSilva for that, can we afford to pay what I suspect he would want, without that guarantee? It will be a fine balance this year due to finances, can we get the size and quality of the squad we want and need, with the wages players will still expect and demand, even though the pandemic has hit hard. I sense footballers, and more so their agents don't get that, nor care about it...
I distinctly remember him playing against us for Wolves and thinking how good he was. He stood out. What he's like now I'm not sure but, rightly or wrongly, not been impressed with DaDilva defensively. Will be interesting if he joins City.
I don’t understand the love in for dasilva , good going forward, poor defensively and his lack of height is an issue especially at corners. I no it’s not a popular view, but there you go.
