Embarrassed over Ash being upset -no. I might have been embarrassed when we were locked out of our ground. I might have been embarrassed when we were having to throw money in buckets to help pay players' wages. But I wasn't upset to see a player, who the club had paid well during his time with us, decide to run off down the tunnel as fast as he could without a backward glance yesterday.

IN your original post you quoted " minority" of fans. Ash should be big enough to of taken the undoubted applause he would of got at the end. He did charge of the pitch. FACT.

It bothers me because the man is in my opinion the face of Hull City for the last 9 years and has shared some bloody good times with the fans.

Fair go. You never did. It is just me getting tired of several threads where people seem to think that Ian Ashbee was treated badly yesterday and his reaction at the end was a result of that. This thread was where I expressed it.

However, I still feel no one should feel embarrassed about anything that happened yesterday. He got a good round of respectful applause at the start. After that he was an opposition player.

Maybe part of his issue with Nigel Pearson was something to do with his conditioning, or lack of it. In that case chants of 'you fat bastard' might have hit a raw nerve.

Does no one else think that he was under Brownys orders to wind us up and NOT stay on the pitch at full time? It's a very Browny-ish thing to do...

whoa calm down im only goin by experience dont have to get all personal, the racist part should have been broken down slightly ill elaborate. I used to hear racism all the time a Boothferry from certain supporters and ive heard it at the KC but not as bad. Nothing to do with me as I wasnt the one who said it, but its only things ive heard. The atmosphere is shocking at the KC which was the other point I was trying to get across and, in no other context have I insulted you personally as these are things ive seen and heard. Ive been to grounds all over the word to watch football, so I think Ive got a good footing in having an "OPINION" on the type of support we get at Hull.

Yeah cos there are lovely people at Millwall,Leeds, west Ham, Cardiff, most Spanish teams, Turkish teams, most eastern block teams....Shall I go on.

However I except that you generalised a bit too much. I extract the piss off.

Yea agree totally those fans stink, Hull's dont stink I love my City unlike the rest of the country as a result of media speculation which we all know about. All im stating is that its a bit Dull at times and some of our fans are really crap, I think thats a fair opinion on my part. Besides, I can take confrontations but dont seek them, but were all on the same side and ill certainly be keeping it that way funky post from myself or not.

Oh we can agree that our support is lifeless. Don't know for sure but I think the singers are East Stand but East stand stretches too far. With all seats sold the "Cherubs" can not gather together to form a choir.

Think AP has this in mind with the moving of away fans to the corner.

Yea I have no idea how that will go personally, its all about the East stand at the KC and the West stand is totally lifeless. Its the type of stand that when you get up and shout with some emotion towards the game, people look at you strangely, they need a rain check! You reckon this seating arrangement will kick in at the end of this season?

It Could but then all those who already have seats wont move anyway. So I guess next season would be the proof in the pudding when some in the east choose to move.
Am not sure if 1.75 season in the prem( first .25 was great) and the drab start this year( not NP fault just no cash and the grim reaper on his shoulder) has subdued us all a bit.

But its not the east stand this season has being awful, for the whole game on saturday you could count the songs they sung on one hand. Even the east stand is awful, the atmosphere is getting worse. The lads in East need to up it!

On the Ashbee subject why can people not sing a song which is a bit of a laugh, we all respect him, he is a great guy. When Beckham went to United they booed him everytime he touched it as a joke, did he give them the finger? No! I love Ash and always will and i thought he was alright yesterday. I stand by him but there was no need for it, he needed to handle it far better, he's paid to handle them songs.

Not sure why the fuss about Ashbee. We should be more concerned about our total lack of support for the current players and in particular manager. The atmoshere yesterday for a team that has been beaten only once in 16 games and slowly progressing towards a possible play-off place from a relegation position was 'embarrassing'. There was no excuse for the lack of support from the terraces yesterday and yet most of the game was played out in relative silence. How come NP has not yet had any song or chant of appreciation from the fans. Since I've supported the club every manager since Colin Appleton has at least had the Black N' Amber Army Song named after them. I really dont understand why this lack of enthusiasm exists, its almost as if the fans dont know what to sing.

I'd never be embarrassed to be a City fan, I remember going to the toilets in the east stand once at half time and some neanderthal was pissing on the floor in the corner, That bloke is a ****ing low life and I wouldn't want to be associated with his type but it's a minority thing and every clubs got em.

Exactly right... same for what James says too! Seems like some people are getting a bit emotional for no real reason. You'd tell your best mates to F off if they were taking the mick.. Hes had his good times here, weve had the best out of him and its time to move on.

I agree , I thought this topic was going to be about lack of atmosphere at the KC and poor support for the team

Players come and go, some like Geovani will be remembered well because of the way he left cancelling his own contract, others like Ash will be remebered for giving their all for the club while they were here. But he is a pro football player with a short career, and I have no gripe about the way he left to extend his career, and nor do I wish him any ill will, he is and always has been a player with a passion for the game, he wants to win, given the team he is playing for now is short on quality, and sh*t he was getting, albeit in banter, aint a good mixture with Ash, he got beat and had the p1ss taken out of him, he aint gonna be happy about that. But as I said players come and go, but the club (thanks to the Allams) will outlive any of the players, todays heroes, tomorrows villains.

But embarrassed about supporting Hull City, nope, never have been, never will be, I wear my colours with pride, just because a small minority give a former player the bird (how many times have we all done this) aint gonna cause me to feel any different about my club.
