Not sure the heart of Denmark was in that game. Well done both teams ..just for playing that match...❤️
Not sure about that Beth as they had so much possession and half chances but it looked like one of those nights where if they played until tomorrow they wouldn't score.......
Only 8 teams get knocked out in the group stages. So far Turkey, Russia and (sorry Beth) Wales look to be on that bus. Hard to draw conclusions on Denmark/Finland after that drama. With five relatively straightforward groups and one insanely difficult one, it’s a good job that I enjoy watching these games because the jeopardy is minimal and the opportunities for gaming huge.
I think that may well be the case after reading Stroller's comment. I'd never given it any thought before.
I agree... im sure that Finnish players were shocked too and were in tears also...Its annoying, that when Finland takes the biggest win of their history it is in shadows of great drama ...Hope that Eriksen recovers welk...
Its something that will stay with the players forever. It happened to one of my teammates at u14 level. A friend who is sorely missed to this day. We were playing a league game and were the top team in the harrogate league. Playing a local derby when my friend collapsed 10 yards from me and unfortunately passed away. So sad and distressing. I can still picture it as clear as day and it was 30 years ago now.
For some reason the pitch at Wembley looks very crowded. Given that you probably only need one win to qualify from the group in this less than challenging format, a draw against Croatia would be fine. Though we might do better if we give the ball to Foden. Kane playing very deep, behind Foden and the ever more SWP like Sterling. Good start by England overall. Slowed up before half time.
Is it too hot for England? Maybe Walker will do better 2nd half if the right side is still in the shade.
