Could have and maybe should have won that. Strikers just need to get their eye in. I'll reserve judgement on Mclean's miss, heard their keeper saved it well. At least we're making chances- we hit their bar twice. Basso is a class keeper. Great bit of business from Pearson. And another fantastic clean sheet. C'mon City!
Can't complain about a point at Brighton. 15 shots to 9 in our favour, back in 6th place and stopped them from going 3 points ahead of us. A good night's work and it will be a valuable point later in the season.
Sounded on radio that any side could of claimed all 3 points, so 0-0 sounded about right. Sounded a decent game.
Positive result ild say at Brighton, late kick off. Get a point away from home all the time and 3 at home and your on your way ild say.
A good result away from home at one of the best sides in the league. Continues the unbeaten run. A good opportunity to pick up points in the next 3 games before a tough run of games to run upto the festive schedule.
Did I hear Burnsey say that Duffen was in the crowd tonight, wearing a City tie! Can the club get the tie back?
First time Brighton haven't scored at home since March I believe. I'm sure, much as I like McLeans endeavour, had Waghorn played we would have taken the three points. An away draw so can't grumble at that too much. Pity the midweek game has been postponed - hopefully give Watford a good tonking next Saturday.
There was a discussion about it on another thread. Someone said you'd sold 1,800 and that you'd take more than Leeds did. Anyway, Brighton away is a decent clean sheet so well done to you.
The other 228 must have been locked out. Good point for City... but on all accounts it should have been three..But eh...if my Aunt Madge had a dick she'd have been my uncle...
In the end I was disappointed with the single point. We looked comfortable throughout, had the better chances and should have come away with the win. McLean hit the bar with a great effort and the keeper saved Brady's follow up. Then Koren had the keeper beaten all ends up with a thunderbolt and McLean missed the rebound. From the evidence of that game we got the better deal from Peterborough. No, not too happy with 1 point.
Think they said 1500 away fans, good game, fryatt didn't seem himself , McLean despite not scoring put in a decent shift, and basso 3-4 quality saves, was pleased with the point. And even a guy running onto the pitch and being tackled by the stewards, quite amusing the tactics they used to get the t**t off. But I'd say we should be able to maintain a play off spot, Brighton a top ten finish UTT
How come you and Viking Erik have the same avatar? I Kind of thought it was a webcam shot of himself at first, but now two of you have it I'm just confused. On this topic, Brighton claimed it'd be a complete sellout but it was something like 3,000 short of capacity, so something weird seems to have gone on there.
I think the injuries to McKenna and Cairney has worked out well for us. Looked much more of a threat with Koren and Evans in centre mid and two proper wide men. With Waghorn and Stewart back we should have a pretty awesome bench too. Just to say, Cairney has played well this season and Mckenna is solid enough. So not a criticism of them.
In a way, dissapointed not to win, with all the chances we had, but I thought a point was great. Our defence was fantastic again!! UTT!
we are now playing the best football I can remember for years. Regardless of the result yesterday, it was the first time I have seen City string a full 90 minutes of that kind of football together since Nigel Pearson's reign began. I think yesterday was more about reflecting on where we were as a team when we came down from the Prem. We are still WiP, believe it or not, and we are 2 or 3 players away from a great team. What was the question again?
