He literally just starts running to collect the ball for a throw-in and then collapses. It's ****ing horrific. I was at the Muamba game and this is basically a carbon copy. Hoping he pulls through.
Christian collapsed on the pitch. Similar to Fabrice, he wasn't conscious immediately after. The doctors were doing chest compressions the last we saw. I pray that he makes it, it's a situation that I've sadly seen twice before. Come on Eriksen!
This picture is doing the rounds on my group chat so looks like he may be awake now (?), praying he’s ok.
Thanks for finding that DH and appropriate you should bring us the news. I am very glad to see him with eyes open and holding his head, all good signs.
There's a few more pictures going around now showing that he does indeed look conscious to some degree, thank **** for that.
Oh God that was an awful - thanks DH for finding good news and this now being widely reported I was in bits for a while there
From the BBC "Uefa's tweet says Christian Eriksen has been "transferred to the hospital and has been stabilised".
Wonder if he's had Covid in the past...there have been concerns aired by medical staff over the past year that there are concerns about the effects of covid on elite level athletes. Fingers crossed for him. Gotta say, think the TV coverage on the pitch was piss poorly judged. For players to have to stand around him and the medics to stop them filming CPR is a disgrace.
When they focused in on his wife crying in the arms of Schmeichel I was seething. Poor women's in distress and they're zooming in on her like it's a ****ing TV show. ****ers, mate.
And there went my attempt to ignore all things Euro tournament football. Are they saying Eriksen has had a Muamba-esque incident ??
Yeah, was just casually jogging to collect the ball for a throw-in and then collapsed. Thankfully he seems in a stable condition now. He's in the hospital and responsive according to reports.
The really upsetting bit was seeing the medics give him CPR. Which was wrong on so many levels. Should have cut away from that.
Glad to learn of generally positive news at this early stage, but this is a shocking event. It’s hard to see how any of the players would want to carry on at present. England are due to play tomorrow, but there are a number of players in that squad, who are former teammates and doubtless still friends. Most of the players will know him well. How can they focus on playing? There’s a few ex-teammates and a current one on the Belgium team due to play in an hour. That’s going to be hard for them.
