Not religious as such (as far as i know) but they are known to repeatedly visit "elephant graveyards" and search out the skulls of dead members of their herd. They then take time to caress said skulls and gather around them as if in mourning for a lost relative.

 

I like to think they are some just a gang of freaky elephants that are into necrophilia

 

All I remember is they have a gestation period of 2 years.
