The Pinkun Verdict: "VERDICT: Certainly looks like a player who can make things happen but it would be a big move for a 20-year-old who may need time to settle into life in England and the Premier League, rather than being able to replace Buendia immediately." If true, it could be a high risk strategy to thrust him into the PL, but certainly an exciting prospect. Given his current value on Transfermarkt is £9m, which could go up to £15-18m given his age, this one doesn't seem likely to me. As for Gunn, £2.5m would seem a good price and we'll within our budget, even with the add one.
Well at least the imminent signing of Angus Gunn is a first positive for the transfer window. It will give us greater security for the future and genuine competition at GK. Now if Krul is injured or suspended we have a quality replacement and it will keep Tim fully focused now that there's an alternative. I had hoped there would be another outfield signing to counterbalance losing Buendia, but nothing is looking likely at the moment. Might the loss of sponsorship money slow things down further?
Webber tends to do things quietly under the radar without agents leaking news to the media . Expect some German based players to be signed without any fuss and commotion.
The window only slammed open yesterday and we will no doubt get the war chest out and swoop for some outfield players soon
23 year old, 6ft5 CB with Prem experience, in a defence that was ranked 13th for goals against last season. £10m would be right at the top end, but his wages seem reasonable and you'd think we could arrange a similar relegation clause, so we'd likely lose little in 12 months. That reputation we're gaining as a feeder club for top 6-8 teams might come in handy too!
Fulham paid £1.5m I think , he has England u19 pedigree and worth a punt but not sure he's a humble Farke type player and a bit of a poser .
Looking for the bright side of Emi's transfer the EDP had this: "Although Norwich initially paid Getafe £1.5m that deal is understood to have risen to around £5m after promotion in 2019, when City bought out the sell-on clause originally negotiated." I thought £3.5m seemed a lot at the time, but the fact that it included buying out the 20% sell on clause has saved us around £6m from the deal now. Shrewd move by SW.
I know it's something you can do in football manager so assumed it was possible, but like you I haven't heard of it being done
