Guys, i would like to introduce you all to my new friend @Redewaan Williams We are good buddies PMs and all that ****, he's a bit anal about cars but ok other than that.
Long ass day at this event today. Not all that busy today either, mainly I think because the roads are so ****in chocka due to all of the closures and diversions due to the G7 summit. Tweeted POTUS earlier to try and get him along whilst he's down here so that him and the first lady can sample some seaweed cakes.
Happy this woman won her high court case today... https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-57426579 I posted the BBC version because it avoids paywalls. I'm getting a tad fed up with people getting done by the thought police or in this case her employer. Just because someone believes they have the freedom to be who they want to be, shouldn't mean that everyone has to agree with it. She claimed she was discriminated against because of her beliefs, which include "that sex is immutable and not to be conflated with gender identity". I'd be quick to defend anyones beliefs, but it shouldn't make you immune to non hate and non abusive opinions.
In other news, enjoyed watching the elephants trample their way across 300 miles of China. They are a protected species, so they are able to cause whatever damage they choose, quite amusing at times. See, there can be good news come out of China, rather than the norm of the media being anti China.
I saw the clip of the 3 large ones sleeping in formation to protect and make sure the baby didn't get away while they had a kip.. Brilliant thing.
I didnt even know they did that tbh. Genuis tho, the lil one woke up and was tryna get out but it had no chance lol
Yeah I know the bit you mean, where the three big elephants laid in like a manx legs formation, and the little un was pinned in the middle. I think they've left their habitat, so being protected they can go where they like. Last I saw was they were walking up some carriageway - I'm unsure if they actually know where they are going, but elephants are intelligent creatures, so they could be going to a past place they remember, but I honestly don't know.
Do you own an air rifle mate, if so nip down in a morning and send a few slugs in Kay Burley's direction, she annoys the fook out of me.
Elephants are the closest thing to humans in the way they protect their family/herd. They are also the only animal (so far) seen to go on what we might call pilgrimages for sacred reasons. All herds are seen to do this be it annually or over a period of 5 years or so.
