Don't believe all you read in the paper or on the tinternet. If anyone was seriously interested and had the funds in place then they would put in an opening offer. It's not wasting anyone's time, it's how business is done. No-one has offered anything.

Here's 3 right here Mr Allam said so
Hull City owner Assem Allam says he turned down a bid to sell the Championship club because the prospective new owners had no extra funds to invest in the club.

City were close to being sold last autumn, but Allam felt the move would not be in the club's best interests.

He also says a rival bid by former chairman Paul Duffen could not raise funds needed to buy the Tigers.

Allam also claims a Chinese bid to buy City in 2018 ended after fan protests.

So when the Allams said in the programme a few years ago that this would be there last game in charge, they were lying and no offer had even been made?

The only genuine offer, meaning the buying group had the cash and the resources to run the club was knocked back by the PL on the 'fit and proper persons' ruling. Despite all the rumours and sightings of helicopters landing on Hymers field no other offers have been made. Plenty of interest, even recently, but no offers.
When the Allam's said in the programme notes ( v Leicester, first home game) ? they genuinely thought the sale had gone through, goodbyes has been exchanged, desks cleared at the time those programme notes went to press. So it was not a lie.
I suppose if we had a David Lloyd situation, meaning a sale could be cobbled together to a load of chancers who haven't a bean between them but fancy owning a football club and living the life of Riley on the club credit card before they were found out, we may have had a sale by now. Plenty of that sort about but buyers who actually have the money, sadly, are thin on the ground.

Another buyer agreed a price, twice, before having the goalposts moved by an unwilling seller.

.... Or a seller trying to eek out a bit more of a sale-price which backfired through mis-judgement.

I do think they intend to sell, but on their terms only. Why on earth would they entertain offers, instruct auditors, comply with due dilligence etc if they didnt intend to sell?

You believe that then, who has this 'buyer' bought since seeing as he was so keen to buy a football club ? or was it just Hull City he wanted ? Also if true why hasn't he come back and bought the club for a fraction of the price he had supposedly agreed on twice before ?

Sounds like negotiations weren't complete - which they never are until contracts are signed.

Either side will be have been spinning it for negotiating capital. Best to take it all with a pinch of salt 'til the club actually exchanges ownership.

It is true that they were aiming to sell and thought they had done at that time. That is fact(amundo).

Following that, of course there's been interest and discussions. But firm offers aren't going to be lodged when the asking price & terms are totally unrealistic. And I fear their reputation now goes before them. Potential buyers are unlikely to be the sorts who have got the time and patience to be ****ed about. If there was a real willingness to sell for a sensible price, on sensible terms and without the prospect of being ****ed about to no end, then we'd have been sold no problem. Club after club get's bought, yet more than 7 (SEVEN) years later we're still waiting. There's only one reason we don't get sold, and the answer is the Allams; nothing whatsoever to do with lack of potential interest / buyers.

To be honest, depressingly, I just don't see it changing either.

Nah, its not in capitals so it cant be.

Joking aside. Im sick of the Allams living rent free in my head. We've had worse owners, been at a much lower level in my time and ownership will change when it changes.

Meanwhile i'm just gonna try and enjoy the football whilst its still decent.

I do hope they sell to someone with greater ambition, and feel a clean sweep will be essential to aspire to be the best we can be with fans back on board, but I'll take the current scenario over the Fish, Lloyd and Buchannan era's any day of the week.

It seems very strange to me that I keep being right, that we're not for sale, but these other ITK types keep being wrong.

Oh well, it's a funny old game...

They'll sell for the right offer. Just their idea of the right offer hasn't fully come to fruition yet, though they've come close.

It'll happen when it happens. Just support the team on the park and enjoy the ride next season .

I think you've pretty well hit the nail on the head. I said a few times, having had dealing in business with Egyptians, they are extremely difficult to negotiate with and forever moving the goal posts, so what you said very much is in line with their natural way of doing business.

Turkish people are a bit easier to do business with, but still drive a hard bargain, so I could not imagine our owners managing to strike a deal with this Turkishfellow, if there was any truth in the rumours.
